For the initial request for your information/statements under the Data Protection Act please use the the address given in the first post of the Reclaim Help Thread, this is linked in my signature.
For your first letter asking for your charges back use either your local branch or your bank's Head Office. Make sure this letter is sent registered/special delivery or if handed into your local branch ask someone to sign and date a receipt for your letter.
Many of the banks have now set up special departments for dealing with claims so subsequently if you receive a letter from the bank then use that address for future correspondence.
When it comes to filling in MCOL or your court forms you should use the banks registered address which is in post 3 of the Reclaim Help Thread.
However if you are using MCOL you have to use an address in England or Wales for your bank and if the registered address is in Scotland such as the Royal Bank of Scotland then use your local branch address if this is in England or one of the main London addresses.
As regards store cards and catalogue companies if you don't have a statement giving an address usually if you Google you will find an address for the company.

Hi everyone,
Just found this great site, and Im now all ready to claim back charges from the Woolwich. Please can someone tell me where the letter asking for my list of charges should be sent. I have a current account not an open plan. I know I read a thread asking the same question wether it would be best to send it to Barclays, but I cant for the life of me seem to find it again, sorry to be a pain.0 -
I'm in the same situation with my Dorothy Perkins account card. I'm going to write to the address shown on my statement. I've been searching for the correct address but haven't had any joy.
The address on my statement is:
GE Capital Bank Limited
Customer Services Department
PO Box 700
Leeds
LS99 2BD
This might not be the same for Principles but at a guess i would leave off the po box part and try that if you don't have luck anywhere else0 -
Hi folks!
I am just about to start claiming for credit card charges I had with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, and also a chargecard/storecard I had with Marks & Spencers, can anyone help me with addresses I cant seem to find them on the site? This is for the 1st letter to go requesting statements. Thanx in advance for any help!0 -
Hi
My bank, Nationwide, have simply not answered any of my letters re: charges I want to reclaim (1900 with interest) and I am just about to sue their butt off.
HOWEVER.....
Is the address important? I do not have the registered office address, only the branch address. I don't want my claim slung out on a schoolboy error.
Anyone help?
Cheers

Strictly speaking you can use either. The more important issue is to prove whether they actually received your letters. Did you send them by registered post?0 -

Hi Everyone
Im new to this site and would be grateful for any replies to the following question.
After watching GMTV yesterday and saw the article about reclaiming your bank charges, I took the first step and wrote to my bank. I previously had a standard account with The Bank of Scotland which I have requested the statements for. I included my £10 cheque, but I also have and use a current account with them. Should I write to them again and include another £10 for my statements for the current account?0
