I have sent my first letter away to reclaim my money back(10 May 07), the amount being just £475. HSBC have not replied yet. I just wanted to know if there is a specific place I need to send it to, like the branch where I opened my account, Head Office etc. I have sent it to Head Office.

Please Help, will be really appreciated!

    Thanks in advanced:p

Head Office is perfectly okay. Use the same address for issuing court proceedings (if that's what you intend to do).

    Hi

On your Reclaim Bank Charges Help Thread, the information regarding which address to use for the second and third letters is I feel, confusing. The initial information indicates that we should use an address other than the local one but later in the thread someone has commented that we should continue to use the local branch address!

    Please advise
    Many thanks

1st letter - ask for charges from address that deals with statements.
2nd letter - ask for money back from head office.
3rd letter - threaten court letter to head office (optional).

No need to deal with your local branch at all.

I have recieved my list of charges nearly £700, Do I send my letter asking for them to be refunded to my local branch?
(they claimed to have lost my first letter asking for the list of charges in the first place and i only got them cos i phoned and asked)
or do I send it to the head office address?

Head office. Do a forum search for 'RBS address'

The RBS' Head Office in Edinburgh (its on the Reclaim Bank Charges Help thread) is OK for the letters, but won't using this create a potential discrepancy with the MCOL court form, which won't take Scottish addresses?
