Corinne, Ive just successfully claimed againstb the HSBC. my first letter went recorded delivery to my local branch but...all the following correspondcne came from HSBC Service Quality Team PO Box 205. Leeds LS11 1BJ. the phone number by the way is 08456 028006. They were really helpful and although my first reply advised they have an 8 week window to reply, they replied inside that time and refunded an additional charge which was due the following week !!0

Hi all,
Im claiming £2800 from barclays through mcol, the address for Barclays ion this site is not recognised as an address so I put my local bank address instead, which wasn't recognised either, but its the address Ive sent all my initial letters of complaint to, to which i received a reply. Will thi saddress be a problem with mcol? im worried ive messed everything up. plz help
thanks deb540 -
I can see no reason why the registered address for Barclays ...
Barclays Bank plc
1 Churchill Place
London
E14 5HP
... in the Reclaim Bank Charges Help thread shouldn't work on the MCOL form.
In any event, the address used isn't "mission critical". As long as it isn't in Scotland, you could also use your local branch address for the court claim. The biggest impact the address has is if your claim gets as far as sending the bailiffs in to recover any property from the to cover the amount of your claim. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
hi in reply to your answer about what address to use... i used the address on this site for barclays when filling in mcol but it wouldn't accept it as a n address i think the post code maybe wrong, but i looked it up on postoffice website and theres was different too. mcol wouldn't accept that one either, so ive used my local branch i hope this is ok, i haven't heard anything from them, im panicking ive messed it all up and its cost me £120. pleaee help if poss. thanks deb540

I've realised we have not put the full address on any of the letters to the bank when going through the process, because we have always hand delivered the letters to the bank branch that the account is held with. We have put the account bumber and sort code but that is all.
Have we made a mistake?
The next letter (taking them to court) I will put the address. Is this OK?
I know doubt I'm not the only one to make a mistake but hope this is just a little one as it did have the sort code on.I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.:eek:0 -
You have not made a mistake.
These days, the first two letters are just to show that you have tried to settle the matter before you escalated it to the courts or Financial Ombudsman.
For the court claim, use the registered address in the Reclaim Bank Charges Help thread. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi everyone, I have just hit a snag whilst filling out the Money Claim form. I am claiming money from The Royal Bank Of Scotland. The problem is, the address I have been sending my letters to is in Edinburgh,Scotland, and the money claim form does not allow address outside England and Wales. What should I do?? should I put my local branch address here?0
