Thanks again EDINBURGHLASS for the addresses, but I am still confused, you say to send to head office, but then talk about local branches being the best place to send in the bailiffs? I couldn't be more nervous doing a University degree!!!! and yes I know its so simple!!!!0

hi, i have done everything i should have done regarding the bank charges, the letters the calculations etc, and now i just need to find out where to send my letters to to get my money back. so does anyone have an address that might be relevant? (my account is with the halifax!)0

I have claimed sucessfully ( for a friend ) from the halifax and sent the letters to her local branch.
The local branch will forward it to the relevant department who will then send you a letter acknowledging your letter. Then its up to you which address you want to use. There will also be a contact phone number on their letter to you and it seems sometimes Halifax have been making offers of settlement on the phone.
Dont forget to send it recorded or signed for delivery. Or you can even hand deliver it in person ( get a reciept if you do this)
hope this helps

Just been reading througth this website and have noticed that it has specific addresses that you should write to.
I sent my request for list of fees to my local branch. Will this make a difference? - please advise.
Thanks0 -
Don't think so just may delay as they will pass it to the relevant department0

I have tried this address twice for my first letter to get mt statements:
Mr Alex Lyons
Data Protection Manager
Retail Regulatory Risk
2nd Floor
Business House B
Gogarburn
P.O.Box 1000
Edinburgh
EH12 1HQ
which i found on this website under the Reclaim Bank Charges Help Thread,
each time i have had no reply only a letter from post office saying no such address.
I have looked the address up and there is no such place as Gogarburn and the postcode seems to be wrong.
