Use the one on the statement to start with. See where you go from there.

Sainsbury's is not linked to Royal Bank of Scotland at all

it is linked to Halifax Bank of Scotland - but not 100% of it - about 50%

use the address on statement - but put the letter to Sainsbury's or HBOS , not the Royal

2 years worth of statments are available online so if your claiming period is 2 years or less you wont need to. Otherwise you write it to the Data Protection officer I suppose at First Direct Leeds

I just addressed it to First Direct, 40 Wakefield Road, Leeds. LS98 1FD.

It got there and I got a letter back refuting my claim. Second letter has already been sent and they are now past the 14 day deadline I set so I am about to start court proceedings against them
    Reclaims in progress:

    Smile: Claimed £3124 Paid: £3124

First Direct: Claimed £8178 Paid: Court date 14th Aug

I live in Leeds now but when I opened my Lloyds account I lived in Birmingham. Do I write to my local branch (leeds), branch where the account is held (birmingham) or head office to ask for my money back?
Ive already got my list of charges from them!
    Cheers

  • Im new on this site and im a tad confused, so a little help would be greatly appreciated.

I at the beginning of this, just having received my bank statements altho the bank only sent me back three years instead of the 5 that I had asked for but i did some rummaging in the loft and found them, pity I didnt do that first would have saved myself £10!!!

I am just unsure where to send my first letter asking for all my money back:

Do I send it to the Bank of Scotland head office in Edinburgh

    OR

Do I send it to my own branch where my account is held

    Any assistance would be appreciated

    Thanks
  • Send your list to the Head Office from now on. It will then get directed to the correct department.

Nat West ~ Doing and will be dusted
Halifax Pre 2000 Claim ~ to be done
Nat West Pre 2000 Claim ~ to be done
  • I used Head Offices on all my claims. It ends up in the correct department that way.

I have been trying to reclaim my charges from natwest but have had 2 returned letters from the post office saying no such address.
Any chance this could be looked into.
    Thanks
  • Hi can someone let me know where to send 2 letter the one that tells them how much you are claiming back, do you send it to your local branch or the head office, im with the Halifax, Thanks

iv just sent my second letter, they recieced them both at my local branch, so gonna carry on sending them there. hope this helps.
  • Hi guys

Feel a bit daft for asking, but when you are sending off the initial letter to reclaim your bank/credit card charges, which address do you send it to? Is it head office, your local branch or the branch the account is held at? And can I reclaim for a joint account even though I'm not with the person who I held it with now?

    Thanks guys!
