The HA has told us to continue to use our existing permits; they've not indicated they'll be issuing new ones. They said that for those tenants whose permits have faded, they must pay £5 for a new one!

Just opt out of the daft scheme or this farce will be repeated every time the PPC decides the permit is a little too far to the left, or the wrong colour, or that you needed an annual renewal you knew nothing about...etc.

Get the neighbours together and opt out. Do you own your own space? Then a PPC cannot set foot there or they'd be trespassing. Spread the word!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"Invalid Permit". 'Charge': £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days).

Hi Kennny. You appear to be very worried that PTL or their client the HA may attempt court. You need to stop worrying, not because it won't but because if it does you will look back on the experience with fond memories.

Do you know the legislation that governs such affairs? It is called Contract Law, is resolved in County Court and not in the Magistrates' Court. There is no prosecutor cross-examining you on not having paid and no jury to find you guilty.

Very different. Your antagonist (PTL or the HA) will have to satisfy the judge as to how your collective actions as residents each caused the nexus to be out of pocket by the amount being claimed. So if their final demand before court is £100, they will not only need to provide a calculation of their losses, but they will need to explain how they came to let you off on £60 for early settlement. How does that work? If losses are £100, wouldn't it be folly to give someone a discount? If I fill my tank with £80.68 unleaded and drive off the forecourt, would Esso be wise when reporting me to the police to tell them that they'll accept £50 if I pay them within two weeks and only after that the full payment of £80.68 becomes payable?

Alternatively, if PTL's losses are £60, just how are they going to explain the sudden wild jump to £100 if you go past a certain date? Naturally you are being penalised, and penalties are not legal when issued by one private enterpise against a fellow citizen. This in turn applies regardless of signage and so-called "terms and conditions".

In real terms, the supposed offence of not having a valid permit has cost your antagonist what? An informed guess tells me that this is a round figure, something in the region of £0.00. To that end, £0.00 is all PTL can sue for.

So if they take anyone to court, they will be humiliated and the defendant will beat them hands down; he'll be paid damages for the ordeal on top of travel expenses and losses suffered from losing a day at work. Knowing this, you're better off going to court!

Knowing that, THEY aren't going to try court... they'll just harass for a few months until they end their final threat and the case self-destructs.

Please guide ALL of those would-be victims to this forum and make sure nobody pays, there are bound to be some vulnerable people which is why you stand together.

I've got a permit for my old old old '04' plate car still in my car for the council car park. I've had an '07', a '61' and now drive a '62', and it's not been picked up yet.

I had one threaten to clamp my '07', to lovingly have it driven off, with them being left responsible for a new wheel/tyre. We had to take them to court to get it, but we got the money in the end. Cost to them: £700-ish, which also netted me a free tyre (as I had 2 nearing the limit!)

Ignore it, don't worry about it, and don't respond to them.

Yeah that's the online translation , not exact but there you go
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I was able to read the Russian. By origin I am of former Yugoslav stock so our languaes are Slavic and some written in Cyrillic.
In Serbian (Montenegrin in my case): Ако пустите људе у вашем мору, они убијају рибу, you can visualise similarities.

I have enough trouble with English, regret never learned another language.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
