Roxburghe's ARE on the AOS list.

They were just banned from DVLA access, whereas PCM wouldn't have been.

Yes I know, but are they allowed to do this as they were banned ? I got no idea but it is worth asking the dvla. It's about causing roxburghe problems if we can, and putting it to the dvla on whether they are compliant.

Roxburghe probably didn't apply. PCM applied, and Roxburghe's are chasing the 'debt' on behalf of PCM. I can't see anything amiss there.

There's probably nothing amiss, but there's no harm in trying ;) I just don't like Roxburghe very much so I'm not unbiased here and that's why I'm saying this. It's obviously up to the poster involved

Sorry to revive an old thread but just to check I'm interpretting this right if you recieved a Parking Charge Notice from Excel Parking Services Ltd between 16/10/2012 - 15/01/2013 they can't apply for your details from the DVLA? They can't just send them after their ban is served?

If it was a recent fake PCN then you may get the usual letters, but as long as you are the registered keeper then so what? It's only ignoring some junk mail!

You do not even have a real parking ticket, it's just a piece of rubbish.

Like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN. As long as it's not a company/hire/lease car then you can just ignore it and ignore the other letters that will arrive. The letters are easy to ignore and laugh at, when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.

The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.

There is no fine, no CCJ, no bailiff, no debt, no effect on credit rating, no Court, no repercussions at all.

    Tick off the letters here.

Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion (which is still valid except for the one thing that the PPC can now write to the registered keeper if no driver known) here.

Barrister's opinion - read the answer at the bottom, it's very clear! - here.

Just to advise that your other option (in England and Wales only, for an incident since 1st Oct and for AOS member cases ONLY) is to cost the scammers £32 by 'appealing'/complaining about the fake ticket. Then when rejected, appeal it further to the very new (untried but free and independent) POPLA appeals service. The decision is only binding on the PPC and costs them money either way - so us regulars would do that and then we'd go back to ignoring the PPC afterwards if POPLA didn't order the fake PCN to be cancelled! :p

If you prefer an easier life then I recommend you just play snap with the threatograms from debt collectors - simply choose to ignore and laugh at the scammer and their attempt to extort money. It's like deleting obvious phishing emails from your 'Bank'; it's a very similar con based on impersonation of authority.

If you'd prefer to appeal then do that ONLY if you are certain this is an AOS member (Google them, do not believe the ticket) and you realise it's all a bit of a farce & you know you will never have to pay (and by the way, always 100% IGNORE any non AOS member if you get another fake PCN, just Google to check each time and laugh at the rubbish!).

However, be aware that a fake PCN from an AOS member is no more enforceable than any other - it just means that the DVLA data is open to them (if not banned) and that POPLA is open to you if in England/Wales. You can still ignore it!

HTH and welcome to the club - we've all been there, done that (ignore option) with a few fake PCNs and a shedload of debt collector letters!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
