That is the correct address and send your second request by recorded delivery so you can prove it was posted and received. You can track its receipt online at the Royal Mail site. You may find you have the same trouble with the rest of the institutions you are claiming from but lets hope not. Good luck :)

Thanks for the above , yes i sent all letter recorded delivery , thankyou for confirming the address for me .:D

Welcome to anyone coming to this brand new board after reading Martin's updated article on the Main Site :D

To any users who haven't had an answer to their question on the old discussion thread please feel free to place it here and hopefully someone will have an answer for you.

If you want to ask a question about a specific bank please check the boards to see if you can find a dedicated thread to your bank and pop your question on there.

Don't forget to put your Success story on this thread when you complete your claim and good luck. :)

hello i'm new 2 this, so not sure wot i'm doin. Havin problems with Abbey they have sent me a year of statements and say the rest is on microfich where do I go from here plaese please help!!

Have they refused to send the rest of details as they are microfiched ? Or have they advised that microfiched information will be sent seperately ?
The latter is what they should have advised. If they are refusing to send them at all write and state that microfiched details are to be represented in comprehensible form for you and that you are entitled to receive these details as per the Data Protection Act within the statutory 40 day time period for such requests. They do take a little longer though and it is up to you whether you will wait longer than 40 days or make complaint to the ICO. Good luck :)

    Hi,
I have a savings account with RBS. i was just looking through my statements only to find lots of little charges on there.I rang the bank who informed me i was only allowed to withdraw three times from this account in any quarter, and if i withdrew anymore times than that i would have to pay a penalty charge of £1.50. Its adding up to quite a bit. I`m cross because nobody told me about these penalties! Does anyone know if i can claim these charges back? I`ve looked at the list of things you can claim in the help thread, but i`m still not sure?

These charges will be service charges for using your account outside of its terms and conditions. I presume it is a high interest account and these penalties exist to stop you taking money out too often. As service fees they are not reclaimable sorry :(

Can you claim bank chargers from Business accounts? My husband has had an account for over a year, but last week the bank sent him a letter saying they were going to charge him over £100 for setting up an account for 07/08, but it is already set up. He gets charged for all kinds of stupid things.

You can reclaim from business accounts and there is a thread here dedicated to this subject:

    Good luck :)

Yes, you will have to do a spreadsheet listing the charge date, reason for charge and amount. You can either do an extra column now to include 8% interest if you wish to try and claim that now, or add this at a later stage if/when if gets to court. If you want to add on your 8% interest, you will need to use Martin's calculator (see home page) and insert each individual charge amount as it's based on when the charge was incurred and how much it was for.

Hope the above is clear and good luckicon7.gif
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS
