  • I don't see the problem. Is this a wind up??????.
He's just doing what guys and girls do and thats experimenting with his sexuality. No need to stick a label on him. If, and it is a BIG if, he is gay, well so what???? He's still your son, still the same human being he has always been. Be very careful how you handle this, in fact you shouldnt have to behandling anything. This lad is 18, over the age of consent, and what he does in his own time, is really none of your business.
incidentally i have a gay son who came out at 17, been in a gay relationship with the same guy since he was 18 (is now 27). He is a fantastic human being and I am proud to call his partner a member of my family.
    get over yourself please!!!!!!!!
    This shouldnt be about you.

Although i dont understand 'being gay'. Ive got a few friends who are gay and they are the best of fun to be around.

I'd go as far as to say i'd miss their fun and their humour if they werent around.

One of my main worries I should say is that he seems to be getting very drunk and then coming on to equally drunk lads who seem to be kissing him back but one day this may backfire and he may pick someone who reacts violently to it.

Yes, but it sounded from that message that he was mixing with the lad he got drunk with and kissed, so presumably they both knew they fancied each other. You don't just snog random people, well l didn't.

Not sure if l've led a sheltered life now....:rotfl:

It sounds like you're coming to terms with what you read OP, l bet you worried before when he went out if he ever found himself the victim of violence in bars? It's not going to automatically happen because he's gay or bi.

    Happy moneysaving all.

Interesting as this whole thread is, it has nothing to do with money saving. I therefore suggest you head somewhere like Mumsnet teenagers forum. Mumsnet has a different user base so you might find some more useful guidance and support there. Also, take a look at what other people are posting on that forum and it will put your anxieties into perspective (e.g. 12 year olds on !!!!!! sites etc).

  • When DS was 16 he came in looking very serious and said "Mum, I've got something to tell you", and I realised he was really worried, I was thinking:

Please let it be "I'm gay/I tried pot/I'm gonna be a dad/been chucked out of college/got arrested"

Rather than "I've found a lump on my body".

His best mate had bone cancer at the time, and another friends 18 year old had just died of leukemia.
    Puts everything else in perspective.

Btw in case you wondered he was going to be a daddy, we were thrilled and DGD is one now and the bestest thing ever.
