  • I've just spoken to Sky,
At first they said the code was incorrect. I informed then it is correct and it is sky who have a problem with the code. I was then put me on hold to speak to the manager. The manager says they are looking into this problem and are getting the IT people to solve it asap. They have offered to call me back as soon as it is solved so I can join Sky.

    Fingers crossed for 50%off!

  • Hi All,

Just got off the phone with Sky. The lovely customer advisor informed me, having spoken with her manager and the Sales Team, that there had been a technical fault on their part, hence why the offer was showing as expired. She stated that Sky will re-open the offer at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT for people with existing codes. The codes will then remain valid until Thursday. The offer will remain on a first-come, first-served basis, indicating there are more codes in circulation than offers available, so don't delay.

    Hope that helps,

    James

    Legend! Thank you.
  • Thanks James_Q. Sounds like good news.

Although with all the rubbish that everyone has been hearing from Sky all morning this has not been the best advert for their customer service.

    Just tried my code and it is now saying;

"Unfortunately the offer associated with the code you've entered has expired."

I thought it was midnight on 24th?????

Who do i/we contact as the sky online help just says either try in a few hours OR it is an outside deal not theirs.......

Looks like they have expired this midnight 23rd instead of 24th.

Perhaps tweet Martin Lewis and ask him http://twitter.com/MartinSLewis

I just hope that is for the second batch of 3000.

I also received an email from MS @11:24 - there has been no sky reply yet though. The word "hopefully" leaves me worried...

    "Hi Mike

Many thanks for your email to MoneySavingExpert.com.

The Consumer Team here at MSE Towers have passed on your email to our contact at Sky asking them to investigate. Hopefully someone will make contact with you to resolve the matter."

    With kind regards,

  • Hi had a code Friday with money saver and we opened the sky account last night paid our £10 up front and it all went through £28 for sky world the hd package and the hd box wonderful :-)...niow remember i had to validate my card with visa inputting my password and it all went through. This morning sky ring me to tell sadly my payment failed...hmmm i dont think so...oh and your code has expired so no special deal!! so then magically the lovely lady could do the deal another way and its all ok it will be £38 a month....um no its £28 a month it said on the screen when i ordered last night i even have a sky order code 0923MONG12415854....oh no sir now if you just be quiet and not interrupt me (lady very abrupt and very in my face sadly) its £38 a month...i asked to be sent to a supervisor but the phone was conveniently cut off!! After ringing a lovely chap in India i am now awaiting a call from sky central which i presume will tell me the bad news....

Can you help in any way i feel ripped off that they offed a deal i agreed to the terms and was surprised at the monthly cost but signed up to a deal they offered which i feel they are now trying to back out of because they have screwed up!! Heeeeeeelllllpp :-)
  • I contacted Sky again to clarify the situation and after being told the deal expired, I contested that the deal on MSE stated available until midnight today. After being on hold for a while they apologised and offered me a 50% off deal for 12 months themselves. Actually slightly improved as the HD subscription was half price too (£5 instead of £10) and free ESPN for 3 months which I dont believe was included in the MSE offer.
I might just have got lucky but would recommend anyone else having this issue to ring rather than use the online chat facility as they were no help at all for me.
This also means that I have a code I will not need now so please pm me if you would like it and hopefully if they honour the deal like they did for me or re-open the offer online as they have said to James_Q someone else will be able to get the 1/2 price deal.

I thought the deal was £28 for Sky World but not including the £10 for HD subscription which would make the total £38 if you went for HD. Although I have no idea what you were shown on the screen so am not saying you are wrong. Surely they should honour the price they orignally stated to you. Good luck.
