No response from he OP since the flood gates were deliberatly opened. I think the OP was just bored and thought they would post a topic which they new would provoke lengthy discussion....yawn0

Just for the record. With the exception of '3' all UK networks will use 800/2600Mhz for LTE ('3' will use 800/1800Mhz as it will be less crowded and over time be the faster option).
All LTE phones work across all UK frequencies, so no hassles with moving between networks.
Btw, anyone else see the irony?. Apple sue Samsung for $1Bn. Apple buy the CPU for the Iphone5 from Samsung. Wonder if Samsung have been tempted to put up the price because of 'the rising costs of materials' or to supply under-clocked chips to make the iPhone work slower?.Never Knowingly Understood.

No no! I've been reading the replies with great interest.
I've been thinking about my needs. I need a nice smart phone to make my life easier. I'm a busy mum. I need to be able to order groceries during lunch break, check my email, Facebook during commute, use a voice based assistant to set reminders etc. my needs are pretty basic, so I may not actually need iphone5....
Inclined towards s3 more now...
With S3, would 4g make a difference considering my needs? There is more to life than increasing its speed.0 -

Tbh, we're spoilt with 3G. For me 4G shouldn't be a buy or no buy decider. No no! I've been reading the replies with great interest.

Having never owned an Android, I would have to say the S3 wins hands down against iPhone 5.
The trailer really p*issed me off. They're unique selling point was a camera feature, a tailored design and longer screen.
I finally came to realise last week they're playing catch up.
Back to topic: for your needs, both phones are more than capable however the S3s voice is more accurate and humane sounding that iOS 5's Siri. iO6 Siri is reported to be improved.
Note: the default voice assistant for S3 (S-voice) is fairly average. Instead opt for Google Voice Search in the app store
GVS > Siri > S-V0 -

There's nothing new there and I just feel like a change.
I have done just that and my new S3 is waiting for me at the post office. I couldn't warrant nearly £1000 and fancied trying something different.0 -

I don't think so, I don't believe we will see the real benefit of 4G for a couple of years and we will not get anywhere near the speeds they were showcasing last week.
Also I cannot imagine the LTE version will be available on contracts as cheap as the current version.0 -

Are you sure about that?
I'm sure I read the ip5 will only be compatible with EE due to the frequency. I also read 3 will piggyback EE so the iPhone will also run on their network but excluded voda and O2.0 -
With 100m+500Mb it's available for 24*£20.50 (!) at Affordable mobiles.can you point me towards the £22/month S3 deal please?
thanks
