  • Well after sitting in the corner saying oh Dear Lord a number of times I have decided the only thing to do is calm the !!!! down!

Realistically the financial situation is changing all the time. Ok so the trend is generally downward! BUT my personal money circumstances are pretty good. I am a good risk.

Overall I have about 3 grand in various pots and a decent job.
I also have the opportunity to work more. Not ideal given my near nervous breakdown state so I will think carefully about this.

I shall go to the bank soon (no time for sod all at the minute!) and ask them re loan and mortgage and what I need to do.

Meanwhile back at the very small ranch with two tiny horses (who are covered in mud and costing me a fortune!) I need to go make some money.

and maybe consider the concept of a budget..............

    xx

    Indeed it is Beanie.

Well I typed out a whole long post and then clicked on the link about the Body shop gift set and lost it all!

    Annoying!

However the deal is a good one and I have ordered it as it will be perfect for birthdays next year.

So the gist, I do not like teaching any longer. (yes I am aware regualr readers have already figured that, but hey give a girl a break it is a steady income!)

And I cannot get a mortgage.

    SO,

I have decided to borrow the money I need to

    1. Get the op done
    2. Get my teeth fixed
    3. Pay the fees for my Dissertation. ( If I am still on the course)
    4. Pay for some stuff to be done in the house.

I have borrowed 7,000 pounds. It is on 36 month term but I am aiming to pay off early as possible. I have 2000 pounds in savings to use as well although shouldn't need it.

Loan repayment is 221 per month, I can make additional payments which I will do and to be honest I will just pay the 58 days interest they charge if it means paying it off early.

My aim is to save 500 and pay off 500 pounds each month and make extra money from the traditional MSE routes to add to the over payments.

I can't move out, aprt from to rent - that is something I will reconsider in March/April time. Mum is away for most of Jan and all of feb.

I have to go the long slog week by week month by month.

At least this way crazy as it seems I can move on, finish my degree, my health stuff and the house ready for the next thing.

so yeah. lets see what exactly that is!

    xx

Is there any wiggle room in the loan for putting a chunk aside for a rent deposit? A house deposit has to start with a rent deposit!

THat was what I was hoping to do with the whole saving 500 pounds, plus it depends on how much the op costs, that is the only one that I don't know exactly how much it will cost, depends on how many follow up appointments.

Beanie - as Gemmize said most places don't give a mortgage when you have other borrowing on the books, plus I would need more savings to do anything.

I am sick of sitting still with skin cancer, a half finished masters and half done teeth!!

I need something to motivate me re money and I think strangely being in a debt with an actual point will me make focus.

I think your last statement could be spot on, you've got a lot on your plate without adding another ongoing project, so agree with yourself to finish at least on before the house buying comes back on the agenda.

Hope the clinic sorts itself out soon too.

  • Back quickly.

What do we think of using a PO budget card to pay the Road tax?

I TOTALLY forgot about it this year and it rather !!!!!!ed me for October.

I could save it or I could pay it to this account and then use it to pay the tax.

    Opinions please.

( I do save for car maintenance and this is only my second year of car ownership! still all new and bloody expensive)
