I'm inclined to agree, it seems very steep - surely that's the going rate for renting alone not a room/house share. Couldn't you reduce it a little and save for a deposit from that?

She wouldn't rent to a stranger Rising, and yes it is a lot I suppose. I just have always put it up by 50 quid a year as she won't change electric or gas always has the heating on. And I really don't want to feel like I am sponging off her. And it does include car insurance - so pretty good when you consider I have access to two cars and the basics for food.

plus of course I have the pets (and the fish) Iwouldn't be able to have that, unless I move to Beanie's house - wonderful idea xxxxx

To be honest Mum hasn't a clue about how much rooms cost and does in my opinion waste money like no one's business. I also paid so much to ensure she could go to Florida but she doesn't seem so keen.

Ironically all my friends with mortgages and kids pay less for their mortgage, tho I would imagine plus food and car insurance the difference wouldn't be that great.

It is frankly a crap situation and one I have been in for a while.

Sorry today is not a good day. AT ALL. I !!!!ing hate Christmas. I really do and I am sick to death of pretending.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Re rent ..... difficult one and I totally understand you wanting to pay a fair rent / contribution but at the same time, I'd get very frustrated if money was being wasted (eg heating on all the time etc) - and you certainly shouldn't be paying more than your fair share .... what will happen when you move out?

I'll add all my car costs (insurance, tax, fuel & maintenance/service) to my list and .... you're still paying more in rent

Have you compared it to what you'd pay for a house-share - I think you were looking around earlier in the year?

As for Christmas ...... (((hugs))) ... I hate Christmas too so totally feel your pain!:(

I've just wrapped my presents (all 4 of them!) - I really don't go overboard with it at all!

  • I would imagine it would cost £500 a month to rent a room, insurance will be high I would think and food....hmmm. I do think I am paying over the odds certainly but I doubt I would say anything.

In other news my skin feels amazing after the facial.

However that is the only thing going right today.

I need to pick up my car and go to my friend's Christmas party

I need to clean my room and wrap presents.

I need to go see my friend whose Mum has died. (although really I don't think she wants visitors :( )

I need to clean the conservatory.

I need to clean out the fish, the guinea pigs and change my sheets.

I did manage the gerbils last night!

Realistically the Christmas party is out.

I have my period, everyone going has children and I am seeing my best friend Friday. I would only been going to make my friends happy not me and they will have a fine time without me.

I might be able to pop over later I guess or I could wrap presents write cards, take stuff over there once I have my car?

Getting the car is a pest really, as my friend who is having the party lives right there! but I can't have all the stuff with me. can't carry it on the tube!

Come back sort out room etc, go friend tomorrow.

I just have to be an adult and not a sulky child!

go get car. come back wrap presents
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Ohhhh lordy ..... that's a list that rivals one of mine.

Hi Buffy..thought I'd come and visit.

For £750 quid up here you'd get a 3 bed town-house with en-suite master overlooking the beach and Firth of Forth. Plus change to pay your car insurance and lots of room for Piggies, Doggies et al.

You'd be very welcome and Beanie's not too far away for a visit :D

I geniunely believed Mum would retire to Florida. Honestly I am so ashamed of the mess my room is in. it is ridiculous.
