I definitely wouldn't upgrade to the Vodafone ICS. I too hated it and couldn't wait to get GB back. I posted a link to downgrading earlier in this thread if you do a search.

The GB I am on now is actually better than the original one and it has massively improved the battery life. I have gone from using about 50% battery a day to 20-25%.

I'm just getting it back to GB at the moment, still downloading the file you linked to, thanks for that. I've persevered with ICS for long enough to know i actually hate it and it's not just that it's 'new'!! Luckily I told my wife to hang fire on updating until i had seen what it was like. Using her phone now is like a breath of fresh air after the horror of ICS. Any probs i need to know about with this getting back to GB download? TIA!

Really? ICS has better memory management, better battery management built in, simpler settings (more automatic) more changeable interface. I still have a GB phone knocking around and it feels a bit toy like now.

But each to own, glad you got back down without hassle. :) perhaps the Voda version is messed up more.

What is so awful about ICS ?
I have the Vodafone update minus most of the Vodafone bloat because I rooted my phone and used AntTek to freeze what I don't use.

The battery life is excellent !
I read a lot about dictionary problems,I haven't noticed any.

The only issue, and it's a small one,is the ring and messaging tones sometimes revert to default but that's easily changed.

    Yes, I've noticed that too.

Also, if someone calls on Skype and you're away from the phone and don't answer the screen will not go to sleep and remains on.

    Me? I love ICS :D
  • Balls! Got the download done to get back to GB, clicked on the UPDATE .APP and it loads the resource but then says 'unable to open'. Any ideas? TIA.

    (from memory, rough notes)

Put SD card in phone, hook it all up, turn on usb storage, something about development and turn on usb debugging
Add the Middle Package/dload directory to both directories that pop up when usb connects to pc
    Firmware updates

Then do same with the U8815/dload directory
Firmware updates, reboots and then you're back with GB
  • Easy update to ICS.

    Very fast !

How did the roll back go?
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

Can anyone tell me how to get my tv to recognise my phone when connected via usb?
I want to play youtube etc. on my tv screen, this should be possible?

ETA - The Tv only recognises my phone when it's set to use as a camera? Although it says no usb device detected?
