Answering Jethro's question as well as this - she doesn't use 'sat nav' (whatever you may mean) but maybe has used google maps out of pure curiosity

I did mean Google navigation app installed, but i think this also uses Google maps, so either could be responsible for switching off data reception when you close it.
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?
  • So delivery was scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) and for some reason they delivered it today. Good job a neighbour was about to take delivery.

Now need to get it unlocked and get a case and screen protector

Unlocked, case if you like, but really don't need a screen protector the glass is really hard, many people found protectors badly damage the touch response on G300 and the screen is one of the best features - deserves not to be seen through a bit of Chinese clingfilm :rotfl:

If you have not got one already, now you could set up a free Google gmail webmail account, when linked to the phone will allow such as automatic backup of contacts and calendar, connection with Play store and so on

    Enjoy...
  • Thanks sillygoose :)

Nice feel to the phone and screen looks much bigger than the SF mobile. Wont receive unlock code or case until Weds.

Is there any way to speed up the screen rotation ? Seems to take an age in some applications

Ah if you have an SF (wife has one, nice phone) you know about Android things.

I would be surprised if your code doesn't come through earlier :)

Takes about a shade over 1 second on mine (on Android ICS) although on the odd occasion it seems a bit reluctant, I find a bit of a tap along whatever is the new 'top' edge of the phone with my phone nudges it to flip.
  • Received unlock code this morning and all unlocked now.

Is it worth changing the rom and if so which ones the best one where everything works please?

I've been running the Velcom B940 ICS since the day I bought mine and apart from having to fix a minor glitch in the dictionary it has been faultless.

See post 372 for how to install.

and post 784, page 40 for what to do after you have it.

Its not a rooted rom which I think is an advantage as its less likely to break.

    Thanks Intenso :)

I see there's an option to upgrade the firmware upgrade and system software upgrade in "online upgrade! Has anyone tried this rather than change the rom please?
