I cannot believe the comments in posts 1& 4 here http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/huawei-ascend-g300-69-very-with-code-new-customers-1361008
Surely the codes do not have to be sent to you and they are freely available to potential new customers.
Have a look at Very's terms and conditions. You are only supposed to use codes specific to you. I suspect these are ones either sent to you or posted on their website.
Very have been known to accept codes people have taken from voucher sites and then charge them back to the credit account or take further money from the card paid by up to 6 months after.0 -

Thanks for your post.
Anyone had any issues with their phone i.e. how good is the customer service if the phone cracks up?0 -

This is true but it seems to mostly affect people either using personal codes or trying to use multiple codes who's terms exclude other code use, they cancel the bigger discount of course.
In this case should be fine if people open a new account stick to the one code and leave it at that.

"there is a 30 off 60 code for very from whsmiths, also for isme - i assume same company (?) code for very is 2AVKQ or isme 2CVZR
were given at till with every purchase so generic, not cust specific, but require a credit acc opening"0 -
"Global mobile and wireless telephony giant Vodafone reported a pre-tax loss of £492 million for the six months to 30 September, versus £8 billion of profits recorded over the corresponding period a year earlier."
Considering how cheap the G300 is available and the retailers still making a profit, Voda must be making quite a loss on these handsets, I feel almost guilty buying them :whistle:0 -

^^This. The ones belly aching are the ones who abuse the offer and get caught. Sore losers imo.0 -
I'd appreciate some feedback on these questions please as I may order one tonight:
1) Anyone had any issues with their phone i.e. how good is the customer service if the phone cracks up?
2) Is there 12mths warranty?
3) To order, I go on the topcashback website - click through to Very - place an order setting an account up and at some stage use the "2AVKQ" code to obtain £30 discount.
4) Unlock it via using the website mentioned somewhere in this thread?
5) Will they deliver to my place of work?
Many thanks0 -

The phone comes with a 2 year manufacturers warranty. No idea how they deal with any problems. Also can't confirm regarding Very as I have never had to return anything.
The only issue I have heard about regarding the phone is the blob issue where the screen creates a problem after people have the phone in their back pocket and sit on it. It seems though that the blob in general disappears after a short time and its only affected a small % of users.
The unlock is as per said and is pretty simple. I got mine within 12 hours for £4.95
Don't know about delivery to work as I used click and collect which is pretty simple.0 -

This is the unlock service, you won't get better/cheaper

Also currently I would be reluctant to allow it to update to the Vodaphone ICS just yet, its fine to use out the box as it is - wait and see if voda fix the update then you can do it or there are better updates around the web if they don't that also debrand it (as your unlocking presume your not using voda)
Also the G300 is a great movie and music player, getting the back on and off is fiddly you may want to slot a nice big SD memory card in whilst putting your SIM in to save doing it again..
A genuine brand one from somewhere reputable like Amazon £7.29 for 16gb Kingston delivered.
that will last you a good while!0 -
Many thanks for your help.
It'll have to be a great phone. Must admit my San Francisco has been superb over the last few years. The GPS is spot on!0
