With the exception of my SIL every one of the family members who have bought this phone through Very or Isme have had a call to 'verify' you are who you say you are - they ask stuff like how long you have lived at the address, who else lives there (?) etc then if you pass this grilling the order is then confirmed. Good luck!
Just phoned again - "very sorry MrB, we just needed to do a check on your details .... your order is now confirmed"
Now ... trawl back through all these 27 pages to see what to do ...
Unlock code from eBay - which one
SD card for extra memory - which one
Do I do the Ice Cream Sandwich thingy?
What else??0 -
If we want to buy a second one of these via Very, I assume we would not get the £30 discount with the code? So would we need to open a new account and get a new credit account?
I see that the Quidco cashback is nowhere near as much as TCB. Is that what others have found? I used TCB but prefer Quidco and use it more often.
Is the cashback from TCB for the purchase or for setting up the credit account? I've read some conflicting info.0 -
My work colleague is still flying an old Nokia so i was telling her all the stuff my new phone would do - a matter of minutes later she wanted the telephone number of Flying Horse Hotel to track a client - she was about to boot up her laptop to google it when she said "can it do that?" -i said i'll give it a try, and just said "Flying Horse, Phone" - to my total suprise it started ringing, a phone number lit up across the screen and someone said "Hello Flying Horse Hotel" -
Please reassure me that you can turn that feature off!
BTW does your friend fly her Nokia in a radio controlled model aircraft?0 -

How does this work? Do you have to sign up for a credit account and wait for it to be accepted before you place the order?0 -

If you have not been a customer before (this is new customer discount) you can do it in one go, but it seems to vary from one person to another how smoothly that goes.
I went through the site, placed an order for the phone and in effect opened an account in one go without delay. (whatever mechanism they use for credit assessment just waved me through). Others have had issues as you will read on this thread.
Although you are opening a 'credit' account, you don't need to put the phone on credit you can just pay at checkout in full at the same time.
don't forget to clear your cookies and go to Very via a cashback site such as Topcashback for several quid more off.
I will probably close the account shortly now I have had the phone.0 -
Have those who've upgraded to ICS and removed the Vodaphone software noticed much of an improvement?
Does anyone use AppKiller type software? Which ones have you found best?
What other apps have people found particulalrly useful for this phone?
I've just ordered a micro SD card and I'm considering rooting and upgrading to ICS. However, I'm finding it hard to fault the phone as it is. So if it's not broken.... ?
I'm going to order a case as the phones pretty slippy and I don't want to drop it.
I'm also looking for a bracket for the car and a FM transmitter. If anyone has any recommendations re these, they'd be most appreciated.0 -

I can only help with the case, I'm afraid. Yes, very slippy phone. Don't go mad on the expense on this one as imo it's just not justifiable. I went for the £2.75 case on ebay. Surprisingly good quality and deffo solves the slippiness problem.
