Just looking at argos.co.uk, it seems that the G300 is only available with a £10 top up, so the price becomes £109.99.

However, for those with a pile of Nectar points, it could be a way of using them up.

Anyone still after one, Sainsburys have them in-stock online at £99.99, and doesn't appear to need a top up purchase and free delivery or store collection.

You can also spend your nectar points on it by redeeming them as a sainsburys evouchers at the nectar site before making a purchase. you might also find some discount codes somewhere but I have not seen any.

Vodaphone on their store have bumped the price up to £120!
  • After struggling on with my old cracked screen phone for a couple of months I decided I cannot wait for the g330 any longer and have placed an order with isme for this one today ... fingers crossed I should have it tomorrow :) thanks all

The G330 review I saw yesterday wasn't particularly complimentary

I have had my G300 for a few days now, still learning my way around it, but generally very happy with it, Except for the battery life. From a full charge overnight, switch on around 8am, the battery is barely lasting until early evening, and that's with it at home, making no calls, just a few texts and emails via wi-fi. I've switched Bluetooth and Fast Boot off, but not power saving.
I knew it would probably need a nightly charge, but expected it to last for a day when I'm out and about.
Have I got a duff battery, or is there another problem with it?
If not, is there an uprated battery available?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I think one of the secrets with batteries and Android, is to use it and totally drain the battery before charging again, do that a couple of times and it should improve.
Also, put in the relevant words to Google and you'll get a range of battery saving tips.
There's some standard ones like switching off wi-fi when you don't need it, switch off GPS, adjust the screen brightness, don't have anything running in the background which you don't need, don't use live wallpapers, and so it goes on!!

Sat nav eats batteries if its left on
Searching for a signal also eats batteries if youre in low signal area
    Otherwise it should be fine
Might be worth pulling the battery and restarting

Well the stats for today so far are:

    Mobile standby 37%
    Android System 24%
    Phone Idle 22%
    Wi-Fi 7%
    Display 4%
Voice Calls 4% (just two short calls made)
    Maps 2%

GPS is on, but does not seem to be a big power drain. Wi-fi is on. It has now been on battery for 5h 12m and has only 36% charge left.
These figures start from a full charge this morning.
Does the haptic keyboard being on make much difference?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Uses loads on mine

I only have GPS on with sat nav and my car charger plugged in

Can't think why you might need it on otherwise

Google seems to figure out where I am without it - but only accurate to about 500 yards but thats close enough to use checkin

I'd recommend turning off anything you are not using i.e. bluetooth, wi-fi, mobile internet, GPS etc then turn on when you need.

JethroUK, what car charger have you got please? Also, do you just leave the phone on the passenger seat when travelling. I've yet to find a decent unit for the phone to sit in when using the GPS. Thing is, when its on the seat you're not watching the road.

BTW, I'm now using Cyda's Stock + 1 rom c/o Modaco. Best of the 3 roms I've tried to date.
