CPW O2 Retentions Thread

I'm currently on an O2 (CPW) 12 month contract where I get the full 12 months back by cashback. I've managed to get this renewed every year for the last 3 years.
Has anyone else had any luck getting one of these recently ? - My contract is due for renewal in July, so I'm hoping to get the same again.
My plan is 600 minutes, 1000 texts @ £40 per month, but £480 cashback over the 12 months.
Thanks0 -

UPDATE!
Well my initial 18 months contract at £1.33p/m net is under 30 days away from expiring. I'm after the HTC Desire which I can get on a great deal through buymobilephones.net.
CPW couldn't get close. The guy (good bloke called Steve) was really apologetic and really wanted to do something for me but said they've not got any good retention offers out there at the moment which is making his job really tough.
I genuinely have no reason to leave CPW O2 and have been happy with their service and ease of cashback claiming, but I had to ask for my PAC as I can get the phone I want for a fair bit cheaper elsewhere.
Should get the PAC in the next day or so and then the world is my oyster!0 -
I need to get my PAC code from CPW 02 next month after being offered nothing much with retentions. What is the best way to achieve my goal?
Do I just request it by phone? I have been informed I can request my PAC code 34 days before end of my contract and would like advice from someone with experience of this company.
I also need to give this PAC code to TMOB and need to inform Mobiles.co.uk of the change in number, so also what is the best way of informing Mobiles.co.uk? I was thinking of sending in a letter by recorded delivery to be sure of any future cashback claims.
Sorry to be alarmist, but I have read of some of the horror stories of past experiences on this forum and hope to avoid them if possible.0 -

Call CPW O2. They give you a reference number and tell you where to send a letter. I did this and the next day the PAC code was sent as a SMS.0 -

I think you can just write them a letter requesting it. They used to say you had to call for a 'reference number' but I believe that is just to get you to phone them, so they can try and sell you something/get you to stay....0 -

I did it two weeks ago. Much easier than I had anticipated.
Called them up. When they'd tried to sell me everything they had I asked for my PAC. They emailed me a reference number and a link to a page on their website here:
https://selfhelp.carphonewarehouse.com/SelfHelp/request.do?forward=contactus&cpw_contactus=online_disconnection
Could take up to 48 hours apparently. Two days passed and I'd heard nothing so I called them. They apologised and claimed it had been emailed, but they gave me the code over the phone.
All very straight forward. To be fair to them I've never had a problem with them or the service and would have gladly stayed had they been able to offer me a decent contract on the HTC Desire.0 -
Much appreciated thanks for the info. My conversation went along the lines of MJTHFC's reply, so hopefully will end up the same way.
Off topic on this thread, but what would be the best way of changing my number once ported to TMOB to get Mobiles.co.uk to update?
Will I need to send a letter informing them of the change, or can it be done via my Mobiles.co.uk account or by phoning them?
I obviously need this to go as smoothly as possible in order to claim my cashback payments over various stages.0
