So have they stopped the discounted deals, that is to say, I've been on a 18 month where they charge £15 but give me a £10 discount every month.

Am I to assume you now have to do the 'cashback' claim thing with all its problems and stress what with dates and bills, recorded delivery, when and where etc?

CPW are brilliant with cashback deals and honouring them. I've had numerous 'cashback' contracts with them for many years and not once have had any issues.

You just make a note of the bill to send and send it.

Sounds like you've used cpw itself rather than its clones. It's very poor advice for those!

yup only ever used CPW themselves, and none of the clones.

But hey that's just my personal experience.

    I have now been offered:

400 mins (or was it 500 cant remember but hey it's far too much for me anyhow)
    1000 text
    Unlimited Web

    £30 per month x 18 month contract = £540
    less Cashback of £450
    = £5 per month.

This'll do me nicely. First phone call, no messing, jobs a goodun...

My CPW 02 contract also ends July 21. What contract were you previously on and what phone were you offerd with this tariff? I was on a SIM only contract at £5pm for 18 months with 400 mins and 200 texts (incl 200 bolt on mins). I've now been advised the £5 deal is no longer offered and I can continue with the same tariff for £10 a month with )2.

What do you reckon are my chances of asking for what you got with CPW O2 Loyalty? Problem is I'm with O2 and I get little coverage with O2 at home, compared to Vodafone and Orage who are great.

I was in same situation as you when my 24 month contract expired in June (getting discount off bills, paying £5 a month for 200 mins, 400 texts and unlimited net access).

During first contact with retentions I was told that straight discounts could not be as generous as before and that a continuation of my deal (without a phone) would be £10 per month.

Called retentions back and asked about cashback deals and agreed a further 24 months on same tariff (with no phone) for a net £5 per month. I pay £20 per month and claim cashback in three installments at months 6, 12 and 18.

So it's back to sending bills via recorded post for another 18 months but I reckon it's worth it and CPW have always honoured cashbacks I've had with them previously

Thanks for the useful advice. Will contact CPW O2 Retentions again to see what cashback offers they can provide, seeing as I don't need a new handset. I was about to get a cashback phone through either e2save or mobiles.co.uk (both part of CPW), but I'd prefer to stay directly with CPW for peace of mind.

Well, I contacted them again and was offered exactly the same deal. 400 mins, 1000 texts and internet use for £30 pm over 18 months @ £540 then claim 3 x £150. This is direct with CPW so I feel more reassured than using its 17 months free afiliates. I was also told that if I miss claiming one of the 3 installments, I can send it the next time. Will get written clarification on this.

I FINALLY got rid of them after they gave me endless 'upgrade' problems.

I wanted the HTC HD2 OR x10 @ a push. they only had 1 left in a store but they said for what i was currently on (600mins/unlimited texts/unlimited internet/£25 pcm/18m) would be £40pcm/24m months. HAHA whatever. said they couldnt move on price.

in the end they told me "your 5 years loyalty means nothing".

so i went shopping elsewhere and found the HD2 handset cheaper with virgin with 800mins/unlimited texts/unlimited internet/£35pcm/24m. but i pay £30 as i have other Virgin services.

like i was really going to jump from £25 to £40 with NO extra. the PAC issue took forever though, they they stalled for over a month after my letter and when i rang they kept saying 'in another 72 hours', so i rang up again and shouted down the fone and a manager gave me my pac code immediately. 2 days later i was GONE from CPW.

This is a question for you folks on the CPW cashback deals.

Did CPW send you written details of your renewal and details on how to claim the cashback?

I've recently renewed, after a couple of weeks I'd had nothing other than a text confirming my new contract start date so I called 'em and asked, I was promised another 'welcome pack' but all I've got is a letter stating that I am indeed on a cashback deal and to send in bills at 6, 12 & 18 months. No mention about sending 'em all together at the end as the guy who sold it to me explained and no mention of the minutes / data agreed on the new contract.
