Just got 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited web for £35 pm, with cashback works out to £5 pm, sending back 6th, 12th ad 18th bill. 18 month contract.
Seems the best they would do. I was previously on the discounted £10 pm deal (from £30).
Good thing about dealing direct with CPW is that as long as you keep the bills you can send them back anytime after the 6th month right up till the 18th.0 -
Right, called up and asked for pac code and nice guy asked for my email address and sent link very quickly, that was on Wednesday and I filled in the request and returned within an hour.
So far, early Friday morning and no reply, so no pac code as yet. I will wait until lunch time today and ask for, and also advise them they should send me my code within 48 hours, obviously only if not received, but this does seem to be going down the lines as others, a familiar route, so I do expect to chase this up, but will happily love to be proven wrong.0 -
Well, what a dubious company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I called and informed them I had not as yet received my pac code and was, believe it or not, told I would get it next Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!
I asked for this info to be sent via email and also if I could record the call, but was refused on both requests. Why, what do they have to hide?
Anyway, I informed them that as my code wouldn't be issued within the 48 hour timescale laid out by Ofcom, I would be lodging a complaint to both Ofcom and to the Chairman, Charles Dunstone. This seemed to get alarm bells ringing and just as I was about to hang up, I was told to hold on to see if anything could be done, and done it was, my pac code given within 4 minutes.
I have escalated this to both Charles Dunstone and also phoned Ofcom who were absolutely fantastic. Ofcom told me CPW were delaying me and restricting my movememnt, something against their regualations. The Ofcom guy took details of my complaint and will investigate it. He did also say Ofcom could get a code passed on if any such problems like mine. He also stated that it is Ofcom's goal of getting regulations in place to enable us to get a pac code within 2 hours in the future.
Got my pac code, so I can move on, but what a terrible dubious company, a one to be aware of.
If you need to make a complaint, these are the routes I took.

Pretty much sorted with me now, I got an apology saying I had been badly advised. Pac code now used and number will be ported Wed/Thurs.
Regarding my future cashback with Mobiles.co.uk with this new ported number, I have just drafted off a letter to be sent once number ported to inform them in writing to update my account. I will send this next Monday by signed for, this will give me back up if I need it. I'm hoping it will all go as plannned, but if I need to sue it will come in handy. Bad as it may sound, but I'm very wary of how the CPW and it's group of companies treat it's customers, I certainly can't see any logic in it, but may be missing something.0 -
My £1.46 per month (cashback deal) expires on 21 July. Meaning July is the 18th month bill I send for my final cheque.
When could I ring them to discuss an extention or a new deal? Would I have to wait until 21 July or could I do that now and NOT affect my current cashback deal.

Ring and ask them, but I believe you can call them from a month before the end.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0

Thanks to TMOB my number porting went like a dream and fully as they stated.
The negative is Mobiles.co.uk will not state whether they require a copy of my 1st bill together with the required bill for my 1st claim in October. I've asked them twice and have got the replies as back up should they be needed, but as they haven't confirmrd they want my 1st bill, they won't be getting it. I'll just send off my 1st claim with a letter explaining that the porting has been updated according to them and give them the reference number of my emailed query. I'm looking forward to my 1st claim with what appears to be a very dubious company!!!!!0 -
Anyone????
IF the new deal is classed as a DOWNGRADE eg from £35pm to £25pm then ensure the new deal starts AFTER the current one ends - CPW O2 always put you on billing cycles so even if contract ends on 21st July but bills are on say 28th of the month then the new contract can only be amended from 28th JUly etc (ie you will lose out for a week).
If the tariff is the same or higher then you can switch now without affecting cashback but of course if going for a new 18month contract then they will just add the remaining 1 month to current contract (so new contract ends 21 January 2012 not 21 December etc).
Of course get them to confirm above.
Additionally I find the deals improve the closer you are to the end, and also change at the start of every month.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks Moneysaver2000 - That is very useful.
My own contract expires at the beginning of August, so I'm would be needing to phone them shortly. I've been on 100% cashback for the last 3 years, but I don't think they will offer me that again (600 minutes, 1000 texts).0
