I got 2 questions.
Im currently coming to end of my 18 month contract (got a text today saying i am due an upgrade soon and to ring the 0800 number).... I have an 80 quid chequeback coming at the end of my final bill.
If i start the upgrade now will i still be able to claim the chequeback from CPW? (claimed previous two already for 160 smackeroos :P)
Anyone tried to get free gifts with upgrades? I'm really interested in getting an XBOX 360 elite or Wii free along with a 600 min+ 600+ text tariff.
My wife will be doing the same a few months later (altho she is going to cancel orange and move to O2 CPW).0 -
Phoned up o2 upgrades yesterday evening and asked what tarrifs etc were available. immediatly commenting on my usage or lack of usage on my current tarrif he offered me this.
SE C905
400 mins
500 txts
o2 to o2 bolt on for £30
I commented on price, so he then dropped it to £25 with an extra 500txts.
Then asked about internet as im used to having it with my iphone tarrif and he commented that he couldnt do it for £30 and would have to lose the o2 to o2 bolt on.
I was only enquiring at the moment, though he told me to call again tomorrow as the ordering system was down even if I wanted to make the order.
I called again this morning spoke to someone completely different briefly mentioned C905, he said the tarrifs start from £35 for the phone to be free, I mentioned the offers I heard the night before, he asked if that was on a different network, I said no, then said that theres nothing he could do other than pass me through to "someone" who could help.
Turns out he passed me through to retentions without me actually even asking.
In the end I got the SE c905 free
600mins
1000txt
unlimited web bolt on
o2 to o2 bolt on
£25/month
thank you Martin!!:money:0 -
nathangarden,
This is a thread for people who continue to use the O2 network through a facility set up by Carphone Warehouse some years ago but which was closed to new subscribers when the iPhone was introduced to Britain.
CPW O2, as this is known, is operated by a different company (The Carphone Warehouse Ltd.) to O2 itself and it offers different deals. (I know: I have accounts with both.) It's a bit like getting Vodafone through ASDA.
The organisation to which you allude and with which you appear to have been negotiating is not CPW O2 - it is O2 proper (Telefonica O2 UK Ltd.).
You need to get this distinction clear or you will mislead people here (many of whom are not very bright).
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

ok sorry about that, I just read the o2 retention part! my bad! im one of those not too bright sparks!! haha
No problem. Just wanted to make the distinction clear; otherwise people will start getting confused over the deals achievable on CPW O2.
There's a separate thread for "O2 Retentions" on here: why not take a look at that?

It was with CPW, yes
What did they try offering you?
If you want I can send you the details of the person I spoke to from CPW who did the deal. I have only ever upgraded from this person in the past 3 years from CPW.A few of us here know him and he usually does the best deals when it comes to upgrades.
i am trying to upgrade my contract with CPW. I have been with them for four years now. cant seem to get any good deals this time over. could you send the details of this person you mentioned. thank you0 -
I called CPW O2 yesterday to cancel the contract I have had for a while now (one year with Mobile Outlet  and two with CPW).
Without any real prodding he renewed on the same basis as last year, £35pm * 12 months with full redemption over three claims for 400 minutes and 1,000 texts.
I wasn't really fussed as I don't use the phone anymore, but now my dad can use it.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -

Today I was offered 200min and unlimited texts on an 18 month contract for £10 a month - no cashback claims required. No new phone but happy with my existing one.
I said I would think about it and guy will call back on Monday - any views on this deal? Thanks0
