Was this with Carphone warehouse??? I just tried to get this deal and they refused point blank :-(

How did you manage it ??

It was with CPW, yes :)

What did they try offering you?

If you want I can send you the details of the person I spoke to from CPW who did the deal. I have only ever upgraded from this person in the past 3 years from CPW. :) A few of us here know him and he usually does the best deals when it comes to upgrades.

They were trying to give me the £35 deal on the nokia 5800, with 600mins,unlimited text +bolt on for 18 months, or the same for £30 on 24 month contract. I enquired about a sim only and the best he offered was 12months free on an 18month contract (£420 cash back on £630) so effectively £11.67 a month.

Maybe i was only offered these as I went through upgrades? did you go through the CPW customer service? I actually really want the new handset as my current one is dying on me and the deal you got seems perfect! That would be really helpful if you could send me the person's details :-) I'd be really chuffed if I could get a similar deal :-) should I just ask for them directly on the phone?

quick update, they didnt ring me back and no notes had been left on my account to say i'd even rang!
anyway spoke to a lovely girl in complaints, shes credited my account with the full amount i was billed for plus the 300 credit for the next 12 months and worked out the date next year i need to cancel, i've had to reinstate the dd, just to get rid of the monthly charge on this years

so just a warning really, even if you are on a free contract, dont cancel the dd!

If you PM me, I'll send you the details.

I didn't go through customer services. I already knew the person from this forum and a few of us here only upgrade our phones from him as this person usually does the best deals (he is a senior member from CPW Retentions).

    finally struck a deal,

    NOKIA 5800 NEW!!!
    18month contract
    1200 mins
    1000 texts
unlimited web browsing bolt on free ( you can obviolsy get whatever bolt on you want)
45 per month with 20.00 per month auto reduction

total 25.00 per month... i think this is brillaint.

    What do people think???..

i guess ppl can get more money off if they do redemption... but i dont want the hassel no more and for a few pounds more this is hassel free.

Ive been with CPW & 02 for 4 years now, and looking for upgrade- im out of contract so could go elsewhere but generlaly v happy with CPW/ 02.

However, I dont want a 18 month contract at all, I'll only consider 12ms.
im not a massive user and they have offered me 200mins ( too little) with 400 tests ( willnever use these) with the nookia 6300 which Ive got at the moment- its ok but Id really prefer a phone with sat nav.

This is quite crap isnt it?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
