Last Sept I got a 12 month free contract.
However, I think they only offered this because it was my son's phone
and he hadn't used it for 3 months. So it had to be zero cost or PAYG was the
    obvious option.
I renewed my daughter's phone a few days later and the best I could get was
    a 24 month contract at £15 reduce to £5 (75 mins + 450 txts)

I'd hope for better deals now, with the credit crunch etc.. but remember you're
taking a risk with CPW O2.

So what is the method of cancelling these days.

Last year we had to ring up to obtain DRN etc and then send a letter to the Southampton office i think...

Also does anyone have the number for cancellation?

    Cheers

PS. Will keep everyone posted with the outcome.

Phoned o2 CPW Customer services on 0870 111 7200 (option to leave). Offered £35 or £40 per month deal, 12 months free/12 months contract, no phone (I was told no free bolt ons possible on 12 month contract, therefore would spend £90 over the year on the web bolt on), or £35 per month, 600 mins/1000 texts, unlimited web bolt on (free itemised billing and ITS), 18 month contract, £540 cashback/£630 total (cashback at 6/12/18 months).

It is a good deal but is there better? Never have been keen to switch from 12 to 18 months but on this basis I may do as it saves hassle for a further 6 months and I effectively get 6 months extra free web bolt on (£90 for 18 months rather than £90 that I would have paid anyway for 12).

Have a look at your terms and conditions. There should be an address at the top of the page.

Send a recorded letter to them requesting they disconnect you at the end of your contract. You need to give them 30 days notice, so send about a week or so before this. Don't bother phoning them to request a DRN. It's not necessary, despite what they may say.

I don't recall anyone getting them without a push.

I've got them by email when I chased, both my renewal years. It's all part of the fun; if you want it easy, don't do cashback. :)

Just had to chase again for my cashback, got the following today:

    "Thank you for your email.

Please accept my apology for the difficulty you are experiencing with claiming your redemption,

I can confirm that we received it, however it was not fully processed.

Due to this I have contacted the redemption team and informed them that the claim was receivedand included the proof of postage that you supplied. They will now re process your claim.

If the claim is successful you should expect to receive your second redemption check for £140 within thenext 30 days.

I trust this is fully resolved for you. If there's anything else we can do to help you please reply to this email."

I think this must be the fifth (of five so far) time I have had to chase, so I am not surprised it has taken a chasing email again. However, I am confident I will get my money (unlike I was with smaller contract providers).
