Thanks. The guy who called me did say he was able to offer me an early upgrade. It was retentions I spoke to last year.

Hi all,

Just called up CPW O2 retentions as my previous contract (£30 per month) had ended in Dec.

I quoted the T-mobile Solo 15 deal (£15 per month for 350 mins & unlimited txts) and was immediately offered the following:

400 mins
1,000 txts
+ any of the following bolt-ons (unlimited txts, extra 200 mins or unlimited web browsing)
Total cost = £15 per month (18-month contract)

No new phone obviously, but I'm reasonably happy with what I was offered.

One question though, I have an old iPhone which I've been using for the past few months.

Would the unlimited web browsing bolt-on allow me to surf the net / access the Apple iPhone store to download, etc on the iPhone for free or does it use a different sort of 'network'?

I'm just scared of running up some big bills thinking it would be free!

Will Retension allow this to get a better deal:
1) call up cancellations department to get a better deal
2) agree to the deal, but you then get a further 14 days to cancel,
3) you then call up cancellations again
4) You "hope" they give an improved 2nd deal

It's always fun to beat them at their own game. Just one flaw; since they lie left right and centre you would need to prove proper cancellation. Since the clock would be running and advance past the critical points before obtaining (assuming you even do from this lot) proper proof you might end up in a bit of a mess!

I was offered 600 mins, 500 txts plus one of the bolt-ons. It is £35 on an 18 month contract, but with cashback, works out at £11.66 per month. This is for DD. I still have time before her contract ends, so might just see if I can do any better. She does not need a phone, as I recently got her the LG KS360, which she loves.

I was also offered this on Monday - seems to be the standard sales offer (with no phone) on the sales line who contact you by text and letter. The offer is 11 months free on a 18 month contract, no phone. You can get 14 months free as a new customer including a phone plus cashback on the web, so need to consider whether to port out (as could go from o2 CPW to o2 without having to go PAYG first?). On another thread, they report phoning retentions and getting offered 500 mins/400 texts (if I recall correctly) for £35 per month, no bolt on as 12 month contract, 12 months free/12 month contact. Seem to have lots of missed calls from 01925555601 which I see if CPW by searching the internet - anyone know if this is sales or retentions? Ideally looking for 18 months free, 18 months contract (or thereabouts) on the £35 tariff as that would then include the free web bolt on.

I have finally spoken to the sales team - offering £35 per month, 11 months free (cashback), 18 months contract - apparently they don't do 12 month contracts any more but sure that I have read on here that people have managed to renew on 12 month contracts with 12 months free?
