  • With regards to the CPW O2 £35/m retention deal of 600m + 1000txt + bolt on and 3 x £200 chequeback – has anybody –
    • Got written T&C for this deal.
    • Understood the redemption rules?
    • Discovered any unforeseen pitfalls?

CPW customer services advised me to send in the 6th bill, which according to them is February 2009. However I have received bill number 1 for this deal dated 22nd August 08 (deal agreed 19th August 08), which means the 6th bill would be dated 22nd January 2009. I have asked CPW to clarify exactly which bill should be sent in for the first claim at 6 months – but no reply. Can anyone advise which is the correct bill to send in? There is nothing that I can find on the CPW website about this deal. The cashback table for August 2008 is not even active!

Has anyone managed to better the current CPWH 02 yardstick retension contract of 18 mth £35 mth 600 mins 1000 txt & £600 cashback by redemption & no phone. Just wondering if i could push for any more.

My mate got that and unlimited internet he said. I phone and on a 12month all he would give me is 10 months free.

He said that the retentions had be dispanded! in July I cancelled any they called next day giving me 12 month contract with 12month cashback!
  • They will disappear before too long; they no longer operate as a network on behalf of O2 and stopped doing so 12 months ago, leaving only a few residual "renewebies" who will eventually give up on them.

Cheques have now been received from CPW for the remainder of the final months of the two contracts that I cancelled. I believe that neither of the excess payments on these two contracts would have been refunded had I not demanded it.

I think that CPW must be making a fortune when contracts end in the middle of a month and of course the customer pays for the whole of the month in advance.

At least O2 CPW refund when asked. Virgin do not refund part months at all, even when asked. They justify this by saying that you buy X minutes at the start of the month and are not paying line rental and by leaving you choose not to use the minutes they allocated you.

    Their policy stinks.
  • Must have changed their policy then. When my contract ended they were fine and I lost nothing at all.

Virgin must pay you back for usnused portions of months. If the contract is at an end then they are not entitled to take monies for those days where no contract exists.

Yeah, but the line rental you pay is for a certain amount of minutes/texts or whatever.
So if you use all those minutes before the end of the month, when you cancel you should still be charged

but if you have minutes remaining they should refund you accordingly

Whats the best deal people are getting now on Sim only?

I been offered 15.5 months free on 18 month. Last week my mate got 17 out of 18 for this.

or 11month cashback on 12 month at £40 a month.

So Do I wait or just grab :S
  • h901:- wrong. You pay for the number of days. The bundle is inclusive and provided you do not use more than the allowance (pro rata) the refund is obtainable on ALL networks. Not that I'm actually a fan of Virgin - but anyone's gotta be much better than cpw nowadays.
