I've had my contract with CPW (02) for 12 months. It was a cashback deal, and I have collected 5 of the £70 cash back payments due, with one to come.
I called today to cancel. They offered me a "free" deal as follows:
02 network
75 mins and 125 txts per month.
Use my existing handset
Nothing to pay at all. They said that they would credit my account with £300 upfront. No forms to complete every few months. If I wanted to upgrade to the next level of 200 mins and 200 txts, it would cost £30 / month, although they would apply the balance of the £300 that was in my account at the start.
It seems a great deal, as I am happy with my handset. I also don't use that many txtx, but might go over the mins.
Has anyone experience of this deal? Is it too good to be true? I was going to go for another cashback deal, but am happy to avoid the hassle of remembering to fill in forms.

I had this sort of deal last year and it works fine. You will find that you are paying in full for the last couple of months if you go over your allowances or upgrade your tariff but even so, it is much better than cheque backs. I had no problems with it and would recommend!0 -
Thanks Nell.
Having read earlier posts, I'm wondering about my cashback on the existing deal. I have to send my last bill between 10th July and 15th August. This is with E2Save.
Having signed up to the new deal today via the 0870 number that connects to CPW disconnections, will this affect my last bill - which is usually printed around the 7th of the month? I could lose the £70 final cashback if so.
I still have the 14 days "cooling off period" - but might my bill still be affected?0 -
Answering my own question here...
I had taken a note of the guy I spoke with. he also gave me his direct number. Just called him, and he's arranging to call me back on the day after my last bill is printed - to setup the new deal.
I think that's very reasonable, and am happy to sign up with CPW. It seems that good customer service can be had!0 -

I too had this deal last year (only 50mins and 100 txts) and as said, went over a little each month so ended up paying 2x£25 for the last 2 months. I was always watching the number of texts and mins i was using, a real pain. I figure lots more mins and texts for a fiver a month is well worth the hastle.0 -
Yes, you might be right. I will wait until he calls me next month and argue the case for getting more minutes and txts if I am willing to pay £5 a month over two years.
What should I be able to get for that?0 -

I originally got offered 200 mins 400 texts then a bolt on with another 200 mins for £5 a month on 18 month contract and agreed to this.
I then phoned up again within the 14 day cooling off period and asked about a 24 month period for £5 a month and pushed for 400 mins 1000 texts and an unlimited landline Bolt on which I got.0 -
e2save 0800 049 6020 just offered me
400mins 500 texts sim-only 18mth £30/mth - £480 cashback
12 mth £35/mth -£280 cashback
or
Orange Nokia 6300 12mth £2.99 after cashback.
Said I would think about it, these 'deals' are exactly the same as those on their website.0 -
Generally, how do you all think that CPW deals compare to those offered by O2 directly (as per the other thread)?
Several people on there have recently got:
New latest phone (or another £150)
1000 texts + 400 mins
£15pm
OR
400 texts + 200 mins
£10pm
Admittedly in all cases these deals have taken them several calls, but do you think it is worth persevering with CPW to see if they will match these deals, or is this very unlikely?0
