I've been offered 275 mins and 250 texts for £5 per month for 2 year contract, I mentioned that looking to reduce my outgoings due to credit crunch.

A word of caution for those with cashback deals, as you have to give 30 days notice, if you accept the new deal offered this would be reflected in your next bill which is also the one you have to send in order to claim your last cashback payment, I raised this point with CPW and after alot of consultation they advised me to call back the day after my last bill had been generated, but had left note on my file to ensure I get new deal and my cashback.

I have been offered same deal, called today as i am waiting my last bill to claim cashback, spoke to assistant manager and said it was too late to delay agreeing to new tariff as it has already been changed on system,eg my final bill will affect my cashback claim, but as the person who offered me this deal did not advise me to wait until 21/22nd june 02/carphone warehouse WILL pay the lost cashback, they advised me to call when bill is received and they will pay within 28 days.are they to be trusted??

Hi I understand what u are saying, but why should it affect the last bill...or are you actually with CPW and then taking the new contract with them...I am with E2save...and cant see why my last bill of my current contract should be any different....but will certainly take advice if people have had experience of this...which has affected their final cashback,The deal i accepted is 800 minutes(600+200bolt on after 1st month) + 1000texts for £10 for 24 months.I will get the bolt on in writing!!..

PS...Any English Teachers reading this.....should i be using the word "affect" or "effect" above...as they both seem to have similar meanings....

I was also offered that deal but I told them the minutes were too low and that I would be better off with a 12 months free via M2YD with vodafone and a new phone.
We agreed on 400 mins and txts, no new phone on a 24 months @ £5 per month.
I also stated that I need my last bill intact to claim my last cashback and was told they would ring back on Monday after my bill has been generated.
I will probably go with this if still available, saves a lot of hassle for £5 per month.

I'm glad I read your post, as ive just been informed after phoning, that THEY planned to start my NEW contract, 1 month before my old one had finished, and in effect losing me my last cash back..The guy in Loyalty told me my new contract would start the day after my old contract finished...What a load of gangsters they are..I have now phoned to cancel my newly offered contract to protect my final cash back of £88.....
It appears to get your final cashback and start a new contract..., u DO have to wait until your final bill has been drawn up...which means i have to be without a phone for a few days....how stupid....

If E2save get funny about this i feel an LBO on the way....

I have rang them again to get a note put on file and have been told to ring them after my last bill has been processed as mentioned above...the thing is, can we trust them to do this...as not sending in a 30 day notice of termination really means you are bound to the old contract...but he said...if i were to send it in and cancel my current contract, then i would no longer be a customer, so then they couldnt offer me this new airtime deal....bit of a vicious circle i fear...I suppose its wait and see time...and theres no way he said he could send me any confirmation of what we had talked about, although it is all on my file...I'll phone again soon and ask what comments/instructions are on my file...

    Thanks again...

No sure why anyone believes anything they say - or why you'd be so keen to pay for any contract with them when there are better free ones elsewhere from a more trustworthy company than this bunch of liars.

Yes but for £10 a month which is really only £4 a months more than a risky 2 year cash back deal including having to use Special Delivery and Consequential Loss....i decided to take a less stressful option.....

That's what I decided................if it comes off. We have 3 cashback deals at the minute and decided for £5 per month without any hassle it was worth it. I wouldn't have done it for £10 per month but @ £1.25'ish a week I think it's worth it.
We've done ok over the last few years with cashback and quidco etc. so it's only fair to pay a little back. :D

I need more than 400minutes...So the 800mins+1000 texts was a bargain for me...Yes ive had profit every year for five years after selling phones for upto £180....but decided as u say...to give them a bit back..and with this many minutes it means my home phone becomes redundant...

I agree, for that many minutes it's a good deal and I just feel like a small rest, but I would still take a good deal when one's around and we actually have to sort one out for Sept., so who knows.
