I have had the same situation with a similar offer. I called them back last Friday, concerned I had not had the promised paperwork through the post. I was told a letter was sent out a few days before that. As its now 10 days since that letter was sent I am worried about getting stung for the rental now.

Nothing was mentioned to me about the vouchers we normally send in to claim cashback. How do we stand re cancelling this now? I would rather have the dela in writing with all the paperwork I need to claim. I have a horrible feeling that 4 months down the line they will tell me get lost!

I do face the similar problem, upgraded a month back, no paperwork yet, was told to go to store to get a printout, I went to CPW store and got the invoice but no mention of redemption, rang them from the store, was told again a new story "yes u will not get the redemption info from the store, I have now emailed the dept, and they will send u the info in 14 days." ... Becoming suspicious day by day, if they are very much ready to read out the redemption info, why cannot they just fax it--Ans: We dont have fax machine here. why cannot they just email us --Ans: We are not supposed to email them. why cannot they just send out in mail -- Ans:We have sent out the mail and will be with you sortly.

The only thing now to rely is the brand CPW

Generally speaking only the correspondence dept and Charles Dunstones Office are able to put it in writing. Some of the Customer Service staff have tried to in the past, but I suspect this is not possible. I say this because many times in the past I along with others have been promised several times that XYZ will be put in writing and posted to you but it never does. You need to contact the CPW Correspondence Dept OR Charles Dunstones Office in order to get it in writing.

With regards to the stores, I too once tried to go in one to request a print out of the details, they COULDN'T do it. They don't know how to pull out the details from the system but the call centre staff seem to be the only people who can!

I had a call yesterday from them on 0208 617 5906 as it is 'upgrade time'.

I said that I would be looking for the same kind of things as last time (cashback) or would just go elsewhere for one, he said that the best they could do was half price line rental.:rolleyes2

Just a few days to go before I call them up to begin the disconnection process...

Is this pretty standard practice from them (to try to get us tied into a 'great' new deal before we give them the ultimatum of cashback or nothing)?

Just phoned o2 retentions to try and get an upgrade to a K850i, I have been with o2 for years on a 12 month, £25 contract. They refused me point blank, they seemed to be just interested in 18 month contracts. They also told me that how much a person spends with them helps them decide what type of phone they are willing to give.
I pointed out that on the website it says that this phone is available free on all pay monthly tariffs, she said that because mine was an old tariff then it didn't apply to me!
The reason I went through to retentions was because when I rang upgrades the other day they told me that the K850i's that were available for upgrades were not to be sent out due to them all being faulty, I pointed out that the online shop shows them as being in stock, I was then told they are a different batch! I didn't believe a word of it, and he kept trying to get me to take out some special offer monthly tariff instead.
I have requested my PAC and cancelled my contract and think I will be giving o2 a miss in the future.

I'd happily take out an 18 month contract, I just don't want to pay anything for it. :rotfl:

recently got offered by CPW02 on my upgrade (month 10 of a 12month) :

    clearance N95

£35 per month - 200 mins, 200 text (could have been 400 tho)
£105 cashback, works out to £26.25 a month.

Does anyone know if a unlimted data bolt on for O2 would give you unlimited GPS and maps on a N95?

Anyone had a any better deals on the N95, I would reckon that this cashback would increase the older the phone - N73, K800i etc

Also the above makes it worthwhile, i think, when you can upgrade again after 10 months...
  • a couple of months left rang o2 cpw and got offered:

    400 mins + 500 txt - £5 a month
    800 mins + 1000 txt - £10 a month
    600 mins + 1000 txt + u/l weekends or unlimited o2 calls or unlimited web - £10 month

    no handset.

edit took - 600 mins + 1000 txt plus u/l landline bolt on - £10 a month no handset and 24m contract. HAve 14 days to pull out so it this a good deal ?

I rang to cancel my "spare" contract, (only opened it 2 get cashback and a phone to flog on ebay, and a spare sim to use in emergencies) ....anyway i rang up, giving the 30 days notice and was persuaded to keep the sim, with so many mins and texts free, i was told there was no cost to myself whatsoever and id be credited with £300 upfront for the 12 month cost....so i said yes, if its completley free id be daft not to.

When my last payment went out I cancelled the DD straight away (i told them on the phone id do this and they said, no problem), according to my online statement, ive paid up until 30th march and then assumed id go straight on to the free tarriff........BUT my sim has magically stopped working and my online account is saying i need to enter DD details!

Ive emailed them, no answer as of yet but this is just a warning to people with just the one sim...if it wasnt a spare, id be without a phone now.

Well, just got off from the phone to O2, i said i wanted to cancel unless i got a better deal so i got patched through to retentions(i think).

Basically i quoted them a deal that OSPS are doing, with 3 mobile, nokia 6500 slide, 300mins/txts, 18 month contract,£15 a month, £40 auto cash back+50 quidco which worked out £10 a month for 18 months...and the best they would offer me was 275mins/200texts 18months, £20pm, £100 auto cash cash, works out £14 a month with the 6500 slide...i didn't accept the offer and he refused to offer me anything better! kept on telling me how 3 had crap service, reception etc basically slagging them off...

shall i wait and call again, or wait for them to call me back?
