i called them on the 08701117200 (free from my mobile) yesterday and spoke to disconnections and asked for my pac. I had an over confident sales guy try to keep me as i had built up a 'loyalty' discount. The offer didn't seem like i was being offered any discount, he thought i was wasting my discount if i take my DNR, which i got in the end.

Anyway, this morning i got a call to say that they will keep the sim active by converting my account to £25 per month and applying a £300 credit within 35 days, and no phone, i agreed to it, no messing just took two minutes, and he seemed like a nice guy. I will check back within a few days to see if this is being actioned properly.

the tariff was 50 mins and 100 text, i don't mind the deal as it will be my spare.

I thought that all mobile companies now charged for 0870?

Anyway, they their retentions team seem to be calling me a few times a day from 01925 555601 (keep missing the calls as in meetings).

I think that particular 0870 number can be called as part of the inclusive minutes for CPW O2 customers but other 0870s cost 20p per minute

Did you ask for written confirmation of the deal?

he said i should receive it in writing by friday, i don't think i will receive it by then (if they do indeed send it).

I think the best thing is to let them think you definitely are going. I wasn't phased by what the disconnections tem guy said and got my DNR. I was going to post my PAC request this morning but left the letter at home, so i am holding on to it for now.

Please be careful of this 'automatic' cashback..I wonder if this is their next trick.

I too was offered the deal of remaining with CPW and then just getting automatic cashback to my account but having started to have problems I phoned back and cancelled the deal and got my PAC code. 9 days later I got the welcome pack from CPW and the letter (that I had insisted they send to confirm the deal) outlining the deal in black and white. Guess what, it was wrong. I had the wrong monthly costs and they omitted to confirm the automatic cashback entirely.

Suspiciously enough the letter was dated 1 day after my 7 day coooling off period expired. I don't think I would ever have seen the automatic cashback.

i got a text confirming the the new price plan this morning, but it hasn't got a mention of the cashback. i had to chase it last year on my other phone. i don't mind having to call them to make sure they apply the credit, a couple of calls for £300 isn't too much hassle.

i took out an retentions deal which included £300 automatic credit on the account
it came a few days after my next bill date
so it seems they do give some people the credit after all
