I have also been there many times, including yesterday. They are charging 20p for an itemised receipt as part of a regional trial.
When you went into this specific Tesco yesterday did you ask if it was a trial scheme?
I just wondered as you posted this yesterday at 7:17pm and now you're saying it is definitely a trial scheme.

Good for you. Maybe it is a trial scheme?

I hope Tesco are not considering rolling it out to all stores.

Finally, someone who agrees with me! Thank you!

It is absolutely rubbish that they charge and I hope it is not rolled out everywhere.

    You are talking absolute rubbish.

I will go to tesco myself this morning just to put an end to this nonsense.

I think you have totally misunderstood Liam8282's post.

He (at least this is how I read it) saying you are talking absolute rubbish in saying that Tesco Extra Seacroft charge for receipts.
    He says they don't.

    Whoops. :o
  • Right.....I've a friend who is a store manager for Tesco Express in the Leeds area, she has categorically stated no store charges for any type of receipt, including duplicate receipts.
Some stores have been selling Raffle Tickets for local charities recently and also raising money for Race For Life but there is NO charge for your receipt, she assures me that it comes free of charge!

Mopinappan- her suggestion is if you were genuinely charged for a receipt you return to the shop, speak to the manager where they'll check the receipt and CCTV.

My local Tesco now charges 20p for an itemised receipt. If you take a non-itemised one it is free, but for the full receipt it is 20p.
Would you really trust Tesco to do a receipt with no errors?

If mine start charging 20p, then I'll start shopping elsewhere.

I have spoken to the store in question this morning and they advise it is a trial fee for a new type of detailed sales invoice, exclusively at Extra stores.

So, which is it? An itemised receipt or detailed sales invoice?

Why are people taking 'Mopinappan' seriously?

This is just a repeat of the nonsense that the troll who keeps joining with a new account and posting some anti-Tesco rubbish posted a few months back.

Admittedly s/he's been inactive for a few months but must be delighted at the number of people who are once again taking an absurd thread seriously.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

    Proof of no charge.

No special request for a receipt. Same as it always has been, given the receipt with my change.

    No mention of any trial.

Its a good idea as most receipts aren't needed by the customer eg a customer buying a paper or some cigs, a lighter and rizlas.
Why would you buy cigs _and_ rizlas?
    ;)
