So you have no receipt, and no other evidence to back up your story. Hmmn, let me think about this one ...
I think you are talking utter rubbish!0 -
I always get asked this at my Co-Op, if I spend a small amount, I usually say no but never had any issue with getting a reciept if I need it.
Not suprised to hear it is part of the Co-Op's green initiative though0 -
More likely to be to save ink rather than paper isn't it? After all, a non-itemised receipt is still as long (presumably it prints a column of prices without product descriptions?), so still using same amount of paper. Ink is the pricey thing these days.
I always have to ask for a receipt at my little local Co-op, and it is annoying that the till register display is not visible from the customer's side of the counter - if it was I wouldn't need a receipt to make sure I've been charged correctly.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

That is exactly what the till doesI work in a co-op part time. The whole ethos of the co-op is to try and be kind to the environment, even their electricity is green sourced. That is why the till only prints a receipt automatically if there is a discount item, a card payment or a higher than average spend. You can of course ASK for one and we will give you one. Indeed if after we give you your change you realise you need a receipt we can still easily print it.
Personally I think it is fab that they save thousands of unwanted receipts a day that would otherwise be put on the floor, the bin or just chucked into our bag or pockets on the way out.
I always keep receipts because I pay for everything on credit card and check the receipts off against my statement every month.0 -

No-one believes you. Same as last time someone came out with this rubbish.0 -

Post your bank account details including PIN and we'll have a whip round.0 -

Assuming of course that Mummy or Daddy Troll went along to the bank to countersign the paperwork to enable an account to be opened for a minor.0 -

What absolute TOSH. I have been in Tescos Seacroft many times - and always obtained a receipt, whether it be a "normal" checkout, or a self scan. Never have I been charged for it. In fact, I don't think legally they can charge for a receipt.0 -
Clarks Shoes is another retailer that (according to Mopinappan) charges for receipts:Mopinappan wrote: »Another retailer that charges for a receipt.
