I'm just wondering if people spoke to males or females on the phone, and who got the best deals. As i'm of the observation that in general females don't care too much if they lose customers and that if you speak to a male they seem to listen and understand a lot better.

So should I ask to speak to a male member of staff for my pack of three (or possibly four) services for £30?

Well if you want to be able to do a better deal than what is quoted on their website i'd recommend it. Or just put the phone down and redial until you get a man.

    Virgin Media Deal

Hi, just thought i would share with you my new deal with VM:

TV - XL upgraded from L
    BB - M
    Line Rental

All for £24 which I think is pretty good, I do need to stay with them for 12 months but for this price I don't mind considering I was paying £43 a month initially!

Oh, and I spoke to a man who was really helpful and I gave the story of friend has been given this offer (she had but not with xl tv!) and that I was disappointed I had lost sky etc. even though never watched it! - but they didn't need to know that bit!

    Hope this helps.

We are on the talk unlimited which has now gone down from £14.95 per month to £9.95 per month, which is saving me another fiver!

I would also say that whenever i have phoned vm/telewest they have always been really helpful and i can't say that i've ever had a bad experience with them, so if you're reading this and work for VM - thanks! :D

so is that £24 + the £9.95 making it £33.95 for the talk 24 or everything for £24?

  • We changed over to the VIP package when it was first introduced thinking it was excellent value for money. Our first month's bill was calculated incorrectly by Virgin and they overcharged us £131.00!! It took 2 1/2 hours on the phone to sort this mess out and they promised to pay a £10.00 credit for the inconvenience. Our next bill showed an overcharge as well and didn't include the promised credit. Another hour on the phone to sort this mess out. On both occasions I have told them how every customer I know is having their package cost reduced and shouldn't they reduce mine, but they would not budge one inch. They told me they "don't make much money out of me anyway" which made my very happy - at least that's something!

During the second conversation with them I reminded them that we were VIP customers and were not receiving VIP service from them - and I also asked if we were the only customers now paying more for our service!!! Again no chance of them budging.

Their customer services is a shambles - I wish we had never changed over to this package and would seriously consider leaving if it wasn't so much agro.

I hope our 3rd bill is correct - heaven help them if it isn't!!!!!!!

Congratulations to anyone who has managed to reduce the price of their package - you are obviously made of sterner stuff than me!

We're moving house soon and the place we'll be renting is already all wired up for cable. We'd like to go with Virgin Media but none of the bundles seem to offer the options we're looking for. Does anyone know if these bundles are negotiable for new customers?

We're looking at getting M phone package, M TV, and L or preferably XL BB. Looking to pay around £30 a month. Would we be better off going for them seperately rather than a package?

Also, am I likely to be able to negotiate any free installation / wireless modem etc?

    Thanks :)

Called VM today as a new customer, has been offered two deals:
    1)
    TV - M (Freeview)
    BB - M (2meg)
    Phone - M (free weekend)
+ £20 pound refund (first month free)
    Total Cost: £20/p.c.m

    2)
    BB - M (2meg)
    Phone - XL (24/7 Unlimited)
+ £20 pound refund (first month free)
    Total Cost: £20/p.c.m

I have a freeview box, so took the second offer!

Don't buy online, call VM instead (on 08458407777 or 01914256234), the sales can combine the offers and sharp it to fit your needs.

Let me break down the cost for you:
    Phone - M (free weekend)
TV - M (come free with the phone)
    BB - L (4meg; cost extra £7 pm than standard M)
    Total Cost would be; £20 + £7 = £27/p.c.m
Don't forget to ask for first month free £30 pound refund (they wound round it to £30 pound instead pay you £27)

    Hope this helps, cheers!!!
