4.75% 5 Year ISA from West Brom BS, can be opened online: https://www.westbrom.co.uk/savings/online/websave-5-year-isa-4-november-2022
West Brom have always been reliable when I had accounts and the 4.75 caught my eye.  However, I know they are not alone with it, but I don't like a 365 day penalty. I suppose that is their safety for a 5 year term but not all go to that extreme.  Something equal or close at 180 would be more tolerable.
Others like me would prefer to have highest ISA rate possible at a given time, happy with any withdrawal restrictions.

On that note, account applied for, funded in full from Santander E-Saver without any challenge from Santander  :)
Thinking about going for West Brom 5yr 4.75% myself, did your account opening and transfer go smoothly?  Was it all done online? Just did a search on reviews for West Brom and they dont appear to be that positive.
West Brom use same online system as Newcastle, Gatehouse, Charter Bank etc all via Barclays Bank, funds might not show up in online account until Tuesday.

Applying for account, with online user ID sent by email all as speedy as the others mentioned above.

Postal service not used at all?

Good option for me. Anyone know if the account can be opened "empty" and whether there is an option via online banking to then transfer an existing ISA (prior year subscriptions) into this account? I am waiting for another ISA transfer to be completed first, hence not able to enter the ISA transfer details during the application.

You can open it empty and transfer an ISA in afterwards, but not sure if you can do it online, in the account opening email it says about having to post a form.

I think if it is WebSave from West Bromwich you can do it online. I have done that in the past and have recently transferred an ISA out of West Brom's WebSave and that was dpne electronically.

I opened the 3% easy access Virgin Money ISA last Friday and requested them to transfer in from my Coventry building society isa at the same time. I haven't heard anything since from either bank. How long does it take for Virgin to sort out on isa transfers?
  • .....errr ...... I couldnt quote you on any RECENT external transfers to Virgin for myself .... but so far I have waited three weeks for them to do an INTERNAL transfer  ..... see higher up on this thread.

However for balance - @savit4l8er did report on 5th November that his external transfer in was complete in 2 days.....

I don't recall Virgin ever sending me any correspondence when I did an ISA transfer in, either to confirm it will be requested or that it had been completed. And In my experience Coventry send correspondence out by post. So it does not surprise me you haven't heard anything.

Thank you! I’m disappointed that Coventry BS aren’t willing to match the B of E base rate increase of 0.75% and thus reach a new annual interest rate of 3.0% that matches the current base rate tbh. I don’t think this Limited Access ISA will be particularly competitive now, especially with Virgin Money already paying 3.0% on their flexible exclusive easy access Cash ISA, which will better suit quite a lot of both current and potential ISA savers imho.

ETA: I’m fully aware that this Limited Access ISA is currently off sale btw.
