Following. 😔Going to try to phone now, but as it's Sunday I expect they will have shut the phones down early (The subject of my first complaint !!)Not much to report really - did get through in the end after ONLY a 50 minute wait (at just after their theoretical closing time of 1PM .... )CS rep confirmed that the ISA transfer (first requested nearly 3 weeks ago ....) is correctly set up and just subject to their delays.Apparently it is already marked as 'high priority' (wouldn't want to be one of their low priority cases .....!!)He also confirmed that their complaints team are in breach of the FCA regulations stating that they must respond to a complaint in writing within 5 business days with the name of the person dealing with the complaint ..... (two complaints, one nearly 3 weeks old the second 7 days old.....) .... nothing in writing. He was emailing the various departments and will call me back today .....0 -
West Brom have always been reliable when I had accounts and the 4.75 caught my eye. However, I know they are not alone with it, but I don't like a 365 day penalty. I suppose that is their safety for a 5 year term but not all go to that extreme. Something equal or close at 180 would be more tolerable.t1redmonkey said:4.75% 5 Year ISA from West Brom BS, can be opened online: https://www.westbrom.co.uk/savings/online/websave-5-year-isa-4-november-2022Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes, thank you and no.
Thank you.2 -
Others like me would prefer to have highest ISA rate possible at a given time, happy with any withdrawal restrictions.savit4l8er said:

Thinking about going for West Brom 5yr 4.75% myself, did your account opening and transfer go smoothly? Was it all done online? Just did a search on reviews for West Brom and they dont appear to be that positive.bristolleedsfan said:

West Brom use same online system as Newcastle, Gatehouse, Charter Bank etc all via Barclays Bank, funds might not show up in online account until Tuesday.kungfuman said:

I don't have any personal experience with that particular building society, but I wouldn't read too much into that - I expect most banks and building societies have poor online reviews, particularly on sites like Trustpilot. People are far more likely to take the time to complain about a bank than praise !kungfuman said:

I wouldn't be deterred either, as I mentioned a couple of posts up, I have had accounts with them in the past and always found them good. Things can change but if it's just this account you are going to have, once opened, unless it goes wrong in the process, your dealings with them will be very limited.kungfuman said:Thinking about going for West Brom 5yr 4.75% myself, did your account opening and transfer go smoothly? Indeed, they would be one of my preferred choices.
Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes, thank you and no.
