    Santander S&S ISA

Can anybody confirm that to transfer out from Santander S&S ISA all you need is the account number starting with SM…, which is the roll number as the ISA doesn't have a sort code / account number?

Don't know for sure in the case of transferring out from the Santander Stocks and Shares ISA, and was wondering the same thing myself. In the past I've transferred cash out from my Bestinvest Stocks and Shares ISA to a Virgin Cash ISA. That involved completing a paper Transfer Out Authority and posting it to Virgin Money. Wasn't the speediest of transactions, but Bestinvest's equivalent to Santander's SM number, coupled with my National Insurance Number was sufficient to identify the account to be transferred.

I agree. All the personal data they send out in letters makes me very reluctant now to open an ISA with the Coventry.

I hadn't thought about it from a security point of view, but from an environmental point of view, Coventry are the worst building society I've had dealings with, closely followed by Principality.

Can any of the Meteor ISAs take any amount of transferred-in ISA, or are some limited to new money only?

Any nasty T&Cs we need to be aware of, e.g. lower interest rate for transferred-in money?

I didn't pay attention to "new money" thing because I was doing a full transfer.

With regards to "any of the Meteor ISAs" - I don't think it matters. This is how it works: you do a transfer into Meteor ISA account first, when money arrives you allocate funds to any ISA available on their list, you can split it between all of them if you like. Similar to investment platforms - you deposit to GIA first and then allocate your funds to whatever you fancy.

I didn't see any nasty bits in t&c. I allocated my transfer to 4.35% Isbank and it shows 4.35%.

I have been following this (and the easy access and regular savers) threads for a couple of years and I am grateful for all the useful information you have provided.

    I n

ow need to step out of the shadows as I have a question. I was also dismayed when transferring an ISA into the Coventry BS that it would send out a letter containing almost every piece of personal data a fraudster could use. I now want to transfer my ISA out of the Coventry. Does the Coventry also send a letter containing all your personal data when transferring out?
