I am delighted to tell you that your application for a Flexible ISA has been successful.....
Last time I got a reply that quick from a bank I was being turned down for a loan :rotfl:

As with others here, I received an e-mail from A&L more quickly than expected - by lunch time today I had an account number and details on how to do a BACS transfer (same details as in spiggle's post above).
The account has not yet shown up on my internet banking. In the past when I have opened online accounts with A&L, the new account has shown up the day after the initial e-mail without me having to do anything. I have just clicked on "add or remove accounts" below the list of accounts in internet banking and added a request to add this account in order to try and speed up the process.
I am going to chill out, sit tight and check again tomorrow. Hopefully the account will be added by then and then I can easily do an internal A&L transfer.

Well, I am happy to say that my Flexible ISA has appeared on my A&L online banking today and I was easily able to do an internal transfer to put money into the account.

They usually (from experiance) drip feed the information.
Do let us know how how your ISA fares - presuming they've sent you the necessary paperwork both into it this year, and out of it next year when it drops to <hyperbole> (but not much) 0.0%</bole>Conjugating the verb 'to be":

worth mentioning those ISA that are part of the Irish compensation scheme such as the post office?0

Ok opened a new Santander ISA 3.20% online..simple process
will await email confirmation
didnt really put a large deposit as I like my funds to go out at the first of the month..so May now x 12 payment, last payment will be next April just before next tax year..that right??
Now for an ISA account that accepts transfers
have to be honest im considering
Nationwide
or
Post Office (yes i know)0 -

That last payment would be cutting it fine - 1st April 2011 is on a Friday, which means that unless your payment goes by Faster Payments (never guaranteed) it might not arrive by 5th April. Then not only would you not use all of your ISA allowance for this year, but you would automatically be using santander for next year's allowance as well.

Hello all,
I'm trying to work out where the best place to transfer my previous years' ISAs is.
Isn't the best plan to transfer it to the Newcastle Balance Builder ISA (sorry not allowed to post links apparently)
Am I understanding this right that I get 3.4% on the prior year's funds. If so, that's awesome.
Only problem is that I have to use it for this years' funds too, but 3.4% is a good enough rate and the only problem with that really is you have to drip feed the money in rather than chuck it all in one lump, but the fact you can get 3.4% on previous years far outweighs this i reckon.
what's the catch?

Hello, Thanks for mentioning this ISA. I was going to tranfer my 2 ISAs to Nationwide 2.75%, but this is a much better deal. I had a look and I don't see a "catch" either (apart from the fact that you have to pay in minimum £100 for 9 months, but that's not really a problem!). I would also be interested by other people opinions..0
