Just a quick message to say that Alliance & Leicester have re-opened their online applications procedure for the Flexible ISA (3.2%). It only took me a few minutes to complete the online application. At the end, the screen displayed a message saying that I would get an e-mail from them within 2 working days regarding my application.0

The same is the case for the Santander 3.20% account :T:T0 -

I applied online for the 3.2% A&L with no problem. I received an email within hours. tried to transfer funds and couldn't as according to my bank the account reference number is not valid. :mad:0 -

Same here - applied this morning on line to A&L - received a very quick e-mail response with my new ISA account number, their sort code, their account number, so went online to my current account, entered all the relevant details hoping to start the transfer process, but the bank (Lloyds TSB) says there's a problem! If anyone has any ideas as to what is happening here I love to hear them before I phone Lloyds to see what they think is wrong.0 -

My mistake - as I hadn't previously used the Lloyds TSB account to pay anyone they wouldn't allow me to make a payment without phoning them to ensure it was me trying to make the payment ... They now tell me that the payment will leave my account at midnight tonight.0 -

applying for/opening an ISA with A&L is easy enough but wait until you try and transfer your funds into it.....even if it's from another A&L account!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -

I don't know if it is relevant but I had to wait overnight/2 days to transfer my funds from an A&L account into a newly set up ISA (which is possibly why they say you'll get an email within 2 days?).
Webferret this could possibly be the problem for you or it could be the same as dorsetlass.
Is this the information you are using?
"If your nominated current account is not with Alliance & Leicester, you can pay an initial deposit into your Flexible ISA by making a BACS transfer from that account. BACS is an electronic transfer service that banks use to transfer money and they usually take 3 working days to process following the date of transfer. To make a transfer by BACS simply contact your bank and supply them with the details below.
1) Sort code: 72-58-10
2) Account number: 00000000 (eight zeros - this is the Alliance & Leicester account into which funds are received, before going into your account)
Roll/Reference number: your 11 digit ISA account number shown above (this information is essential to ensure that funds are credited to your account)"
Hope that may help,

Can you explain what happened in your case.
I 'opened' an account today - A&L sent me an e-mail with my new ISA account details (I've not banked with them before) - I've asked my (lloyds) bank current account to transfer the money (not A&L) they claim they'll move the money 'out' tonight.
What problems am I likely to expect based on your experience?0 -

I have looked on the web, as was intersted in teh ING ISA, but didn't notice that previous year' contributions only earn a 2.5% interest.
Has anyone got a link?
