How can android be a rip off iOS when android existed first?

Each to their own then, I only have 20-20 vision so can't tell the difference, and I prefer an opensource approach. Until Replicant or Mozilla B2G become mainstream Android will have to do.
I can't justify apple on a price or ethical point.
I tend not to let ethics get in the way as all company's are as scummy as each other in that regard.Under powered compared to devices on the market now. You'll find that android was around long before the iphone was (ie 2003), apple brought a phone to market before google brought an android phone to market is all.
It was 2005 when Google bought Android Inc and 2008 when they released the first device running Android. We've no idea how long iOS was in development for.0 -

Never heard anyone complain that their iPhone is slow and lags so I don't really understand how it can be considered underpowered.0 -
AFAIK it was 2005 for the iphone though apparently jobs was thinking about it 2002.
I don't think I've read anything that indicates this. Got a source?I should have specified that they are under powered at their price point as well as compared to devices on the market now.0 -
How many do you want? Google has loads but here it is on wikipedia:

To be honest, I don't even know why I asked for a link. It's irrelevant how long iOS and Android were in development, no one can buy them when there in development. My original point was that the iPhone was released to the public before the HTC Dream, which it was.0 -
Do you guys not have ggogle or wikipedia?!: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iphone#...d_availability
I was looking at the iOS article which doesn't mention when development began. We also don't know whether the development of the iPhone itself coincided with the development of iOS or not.I guess the market doesn't agree with your opinion either.
It's a mix of both right now, but with a big shift towards experience now (especially as Samsung have finally awoken and got on board with that concept!).Its very relevant when you stated "Yes Android might have been ripped off from iOS... " which is what I was replying to.
What did Android look like prior to the iPhone being announced?0 -
I like where your going with this (that is if you're going towards the usual) and the answer is that it depends what its installed on. But I'm sure you'll drag up the usual picture anyway which is easily disproved.:rotfl:
Is there any evidence that the final product in 2008 was what was in development from 2003? All we can go on is the evidence that we have...0 -
Samsung will do what samsung will do. I was trying to explain earlier that android has the user experience down, some manufacturers mess it up is all.

What do you think about Windows Phone?0 -
The product was android so yes.
A common theme through out our discussion is your presumption that the business models on google and apple are the same.
Apple is a hardware manufacturer. Google is a software manufacturer.
Now if you're talking hardware you're going with the blackberry looking phone am I right?
Yeah the one with the d-pad driven OS. That's all I can find about Android prior to the introduction of the iPhone. I haven't seen anything to suggest that what Android ended up looking like in 2008 was what it looked like prior to the iPhone being announced.0 -

The basis of that article is really wrong.
The source of the article you have linked to has updated his original posting.0
