Having been an iPhone user until recently when I switched to Android. The inbuilt Navigation app which came as standard was a definately plus and was only a matter of time before iPhone had to play catch up.

Plus on a Note screen, no sat nav available on an iPhone is ever going to knock it. Sorry, iOS has lost me to Android and I don't think I am ever returning. Small screen size a deal breaker for Apple

Well many like me prefer to have a 'normal' smartphone (3-4 inches) anything bigger, I may as well carry my 12" thinkpad around :)

Strong hints suggest that the next variant of iphone will have a larger screen, that supports 16:9 aspect ratio.

    Does it use data?

    According to PocketGPSWorld, yes:

"We've only had time for the briefest of looks at the new software after a late night downloading and updating. Whilst the new navigation app is to be welcomed, it is an off-board solution and so requires a data connection to function."

Thanks for the response Mike, so once again, it is nothing new, the screen shot looks familiar with wisepilot, amaze etc.

Yes! everybody else called it video calling from many years back ;)
hmm yes BUT If you are calling your facetime contact abroad, then the data charges for facetime call would be cheaper than the call charges to a mobile call abroad. Keep in mind, most iphone contracts come with unlimited data allowance - atleast mine is.

Not sure about MOST by a long way, but we have seen plenty of horror stories of roaming data charges.

Video call charges are too high. At least with the face time you can use your Internet data
Also unlike video calls you do not loss your minutes.

Yes, ROAMING data charges are high. That is why mobile operators advise users to disable data roaming when traveling abroad. If you are in UK and are on unlimited internet contract then roaming charges are not an issue.
