Could they be sliced and slowly dried in a low oven to make nana crisps? I do like the ones from the healthy food shops, but I dont know if they are baked or fried

If you check out the Cooking section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the Old Style forum listing you'll find a whole bunch more banana recipes and ideas listed under "fruit"Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Fred - which club do you DJ at? I think I may have seen you there on my ballroom dancing. I must say, you mix with the best of them. Bo!
On the subject of bananas, Im sure google would give you plenty of options of what to do with them if you just searched for 101 uses of a banana.0 -

I can recomend the banana chutney. Have made loads in the past few months as pressies. It works well with curries my friend told me. I have also kept some from about 4 months ago and it tastes fine. On my way to work on Friday morning, I discovered a LARGE box of bananas in my porch, which I think were intended for my DH to take to work (he is manager of a charity which runs a cafe and we do get surprises like this from time to time). Anyway, he'd gone by that time, I wasn't taking this box to him on the bus, and the bananas are now blacker than ever (although still remarkably good inside).
I've made a double batch of banana bread which has used 12 of them and that can go into his work. But I'm running out of eggs, flour and ideas. I know you can freeze them, but I've got no freezer space. And I know you can dry them in a low oven for 24 hours, so I may try that tomorrow after the roast is done. But any other bright ideas?
Alternatively anyone willing to come to NW Bristol for a bunch of bananas, please PM me and I'll get back to you tomorrow (about to swallow my tea and head out to Pride and Prejudice, girly night out!)Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
You've just reminded me that I have some bananas in the freezer taking up valuable space!
Now, the last time I tried to peel a frozen banana it didn't go too well, and when I tried to defrost one it went black and left a puddle on the side
I want to make a cake or banana loaf of sorts to use up these bananas (6) but what's the best way of dealing with them from frozen?"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I know the following wont use up many bananas but it is easy and you can put in oven after your roast - my mum used to make this when I was a kid:
Baked bananas
2 bananas per person will give a good sized portion
golden syrup or honey
lemon juice
split bananas in two (lengthways)
arrange in pyrex baking dish
cover with some honey or golden syrup - not sure how much prob about 1 table spoon per person
squeeze lemon juice over this
bake in a moderate oven - if I remember takes about 35 minutes - basically until bananas are still in one piece but mushy.
Serve with evaporated milk.
Perfect for a coldish autumn afternoon.0 -
