I've used Ovivo in my iPad today, set it up manually with apn of ovivomobile.com - is there a user/pass for faster coverage? (e.g. other networks have/had a username to avoid caching etc).
I'm apparently on 3G but this is worse than 56k! If you go onto say Facebook, you get text (if you're lucky) and blank squares for images, which eventually load, minutes later. On other sites, images refuse to load - or load 1 by 1, at a speed of about 1 per minute!
My signal is 3G and 4/5 'dots'. Is this normal!?
It's taken over 45 minutes to download the Speedtest App from the app store....0 -
I see another load of posts have been deleted due to a personal attack by NGM.0

I ordered the sim. I'll take my chances as long as they dont go bankrupt and take my 10 year old phone number with them!!
Out of curiousity. How can 3G speeds be so bad when they actually use 3G to make money be slipping extra ads in?
I think it's a typical growth strategy deal. They're just looking to massively undertake the market and get a lot of subscribers and then when it hits critical mass they'll sell the service to another network and charge more.
A new mobile phone network being launched will need to spend hundreds of pounds per customer in marketing costs in order to drive demand. Ovivo marketing is free - just viral stuff. But who cares - I'll go on for the ride while it lasts,0 -

Unfortunately that's my experience a lot of the time, Ovivo has that one huge failing it relies on Vodafone for 3G (which is bad enough) and it is then tampered with the "smart data" and ads from Ovivo.
Speed wise, it's glacial a lot of the time.
My usual advice to people is Ovivo is good for calls, texts, email, apps like Facebook and Twitter and only very occasional browsing.====0 -

I'd agree. I use TalkTalk Mobile. It uses Vodafone. Data is awful, and it seems awful wherever you go. I shall be ditching it soon, because it's useless.0 -
Just had an email from Ovivo;
"Freedom 0 and Freedom 5 now have 300 minutes and 300 texts!"
Edit Freedom 5 is now 1Gb.0 -
Yep just got PAC from Tmobile for the wifes phone
She doesn't use data so not an issue ! Maybe someone could change the thread title to reflect the correct amount of minutes/texts etc ?

According to Hotdeals, you can also get £5.25 from Topcashback (for the next 5 days) or £5 from Quidco, plus a free Cineworld ticket when you talk out a sim.
Can't see anyone going for the Freedom 5 when the Freedom 0 (which costs £0 per month) gives you the same allowances - ok technically the Freedom 5 gives you 1Gb rather than 500Mb, but can't see anyone ever being able to use more than 500Mb given the slow data speeds.
Ovivo is fantastic value for (zero) money as long as you are not a serious user of data.0
