I've been a busy little bee here, on sunday OH and i emptied, sorted and repacked both the outside shed and understairs shed. We've started a car boot section which is rapidly expanding, We've got a small sofa arriving tomorrow so i'm having to get rid of a book case, which was full of dvd's and videos which havent' been watched in ages, so they're ready for car booting now. I'm suposed to move the proper book case now and all the books inside but i dont' want to, i wanted OH help before he left again on sunday but we ran out of time. I know how much of a sugar job it is as i've moved it a couple of times before but it has to be done. Big question is where do i put the bookcase i've just emptied? there's no space anywhere for it.
I freecycled loads on sunday much of which has gone but i don't want to do that with book case as my parents may end up with it if they get their act together.
sorry if it sounds like i'm whining, i just really don't want to move the bookcase...... can someone give me a hand? please????????0 -
I have a huge bookcase full to bursting which we left in the middle room because it was such a job to shift it..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

To sort out a bedroom for my new grand-daughter, we had to empty a bookcase, so I put all the books into my built in wardrobe. The bottom shelf collapsed underthe weightYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

A possible house move is on the cards, that *may* see us mortgage free, as we bought our place v v cheaply and it has shot up in value.
Anyhoo, current house is big and we seem to have filled it:o Not with junk necessarily, just *stuff*, so I AM going to get organised, room by room, drawer by drawer....
Started yesterday with;
I am always seeing recipes in magazines etc that I want to try, I cut them out and they were beginning to form a huge pile in my cupboard.
So I found a lever arch file and some plastic wallets (recycled- they had my school work in them!!) and set about filing all the recipes, in order ie Starters, soups, chicken dishes, beef dishes, you get the idea
This way, when I find more, I can add to the collection. I found some lovely recipes I'd completely forgotton about. I have done index sheets in the front with the recipes on, for easy viewing
Next I tackled OH's undies and sock drawers, chucked away any old ones and re-organised. We then, glass of wine in hand:p had a look through OH's wardrobe, as his parents are going to the charity shop today, so thought it would be an ideal time. Got rid of some old stuff, so now I can sort out all his nice clothes and tidy it up
Feel better already. If I can just do something each day, even if just a small box full of stuff, hopefully when we do come to move, we won't be taking junk with us (as we did last time)
Next, I need to work out all the areas I need to tackle and list them...0 -

Hi Millie2008
If you have a scanner, it's really easy to scan all your recipes and save them onto disc under different categories, it's what I've done and it saves me having to physically have them around, and they're really easy to get to when you need them.
Cheers

Morning everybody!
Pigpen - have you got that £9 yet?! Something strange has happened with my ebaying. The invoiced amount for seller fees supposedly got taken from my Paypal 2 days ago but isn't showing. I've been in and made a manual payment for the fees incurred since then and now my account is showing as 0, but I don't know where that invoiced amount has been taken from
Lemon Tree, well done with your efforts, if any of us were local I'm sure we'd have been round to give you a hand. What's a "sugar job"? I haven't heard that expression before.
Oooh Millie2008 that's a great start! Hope all goes well with the potential house move. Will you post up your to do list when you've worked it out?
Finally received payment from one of the two remaining auction winners. The other one isn't going to pay, I'm pretty sure of that. Newly registered in another country and 0 feedback , no communication at all. So that goes in my relist box!
I am freecycling a pressure washer today, I was undecided while sorting the sheds yesterday, but after giving it some more thought I've decided it can go.0 -
I wish I'd found this thread 2 years ago, whenmoving into DF's home & trying to rationalise a garage + 2 x 3-bedroomed houses into 1....the amount of "stuff" that I freecycled / ebayed / shredded / skipped / tipped was ridiculous, so much so that I don't have very much clutter now and what I do have is sorted & boxed tidily
However, the upside is that when we move in a couple of years, my stuff is all sorted, whereas there is a lot of his "stuff" that still needs addressing....;)0 -
Well, first offer couple are off to find more funds apparently and want to be kept updated on any other offers and viewings that might happen.
In the meantime, Saturday's viewing has been moved to this afternoon and we have another viewing scheduled for next Saturday. House went into the Local paper this weekend, so hopefully that will encourage more interest too.
I had to send my Desktop back to Acer to be repaired! The iTune archiving of the CD collection has kn***ered the CD player! So its gone back for repair under warranty. DHL collected. Thank goodness I have my new laptop - I couldn't cope with the withdrawal symptoms!!!
I backed up the data to an external disk just in case.
Am continuing the writing of CDs on the laptop and then will move files across to the external disk later so I can pack the CDs away ready for the move. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Yep.. I got £15 in payments so I've bought my fire this morning so I should have that by next weekend.... We do have to spend the weekend papering though.. just lining paper so it is neat when we paint it as the walls have never been painted and are just naked porous plaster.. they'd need about 15 coats of paint so it will be cheaper to buy the lining paper and paint that.
I am hoping to get the boys room repainted next week sometime though.. it has been a mess since we did the bathroom last easter..and one wall is naked plaster ..
I daren't even look at my fees.. I have £65 to last until Monday and hubby is wanting to go out tonight.. my mother owes me £70 (and the rest!!) but won't be giving me that for a few weeks. and I have a pile of ebay stuff still to post.
I have a few more bits I listed last night and have another 2 boxes to sort through and 6 items to post and 3 payments outstanding still.. I'll check and chse those later.. ooh post.. I am expecting 2 cheques!
ETA.. £7.50 postal order.. so I'll fling that in bank on my way up to collect Tiddles..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
