There were 27 potential takers for the pressure washer in the end - all but 5 were eliminated for not reading my offer properly :rotfl:

From the 5, I chose the one that I thought was the most nicely written. Hopefully they will turn up tomorrow!

Bit more space in the shed now so I'll rejig the recycling arrangements AGAIN. I'd really like to get some nice colour coded containers but I guess old cardboard boxes do the job so it's a bit of a waste of money.

hi well i did my sugar job (my way of saying the opposite really). The new sofa has arrived and has settled into it's new home. I'm not planning on going anywhere this weekend so i'm determined to tackle the bedroom. Guess there'll be lots more listings on freecycle again this weekend and the car boot pile will grow higher.

Slides transferred to disc and the slide viewer and storage box being collected by a freecycler tomorrow morning.
She has found a box of slides taken by her grandfather and will now be able to see them properly. So a win/win situation.

Did you need some special equipment to transfer slides to disc please?

Not sure what method Craftyscholar used, Clutterfree, but you'd need a slide scanner to get them into digital format. Either a dedicated slide/negative scanner, or a flatbed scanner with slide attachment.

I have had much better results in the past with the dedicated scanner than the flatbed one. I'm going to dig it out tomorrow and test it again after years of non-use so I'll see how it compares by today's standards.

Very important - if you're doing this get a blower bulb or canned air to give the slides a blast and get rid of dust first, as every speck of dust is magnified on the finished scan! With canned air be careful though because the first blast can have a sticky residue... do a couple of blasts in the air to clear it first before aiming at your slides.

These type of scanners are fine for home use if you have a small quantity of slides to transfer, but if you have hundreds I'd consider getting them done at a photo lab :) Hope this helps.

I've found some more digital pics which really should have been included in my order :rotfl: ones that my son has taken himself, there are some cracking self portraits etc.

Included with these are some pics he's taken which will be great to use as "before" photos for my lounge so I'll post those up with the "after" ones for you guys to have a giggle tomorrow.

Anyone got any ebay updates, auctions finishing this weekend?

As I only had 64 slides (after weeding out the ones I didn't want to keep) I put them in to Jessops and let the professionals do the job. Cost me £31.

missyg - stop showing piccys of your lovely tidy house when mine still looks a bit like a bombs hit it..........................lol:rotfl:

I've got some colour slides first hubby took in the early 1960's..........would they transfer to photos and if so how ? I havent got a scanner or any other hi-tech stuff andlast time Itook them to the photo shop in town the chap said he couldn't do them. Can't remember the reason now -it was a few years ago. I'd love to have them done as there's some of the son I lost, plus first hubby and some wedding photos.

Well, I've cleared my letter rack (well, not quite as some stuff I need to send photocopies away with or phone calls need making before I can deal with it and file it)
OH went and collected vase/flower pot I felt was a 'must have' from charity shop and now I don't know where to put it. If I get the shelf done to go on top of the plant trough that currently holds brollies, gloves, magazines and a first aid box, then I could stand it on there.............ummm..............might.....just might, get round to that little corner...............lol Oh eck, and next to that there's a little sort of table with a drawer in that is an awful colour at the minute........supposed to be terracotta it was and - well can't mention on here the colour it turned out...............lol (methinks I'll need more paint !!!!!)

(so far no ones replied to my offer of electronic typewriter on freecycle:confused: )

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
