10 responses for the pressure washer in first 20 minutes - 8 of which blatently didn't read the last line of my offer message where I said what the collection time slot was ;)

So it's pick out of 2 then? How do you choose? I used to do "fastest finger first" and only told them 24 hrs after offering, but if I got loads of enquiries then I would try & do "most worthy"....sometimes making the wrong decision when I'd see the same people offering my stuff a week later!

I'm going to give it a few hours at least before deciding.

I'll eliminate anyone who hasn't confirmed they can collect at the time I've specified (or is offering to collect at another time), because that's a fairly simple thing I've asked :p

I'll eliminate anyone who says they "NEED" it because nobody "NEEDS" a pressure washer :rotfl:

I'll eliminate any overly elaborate sob stories

Then if there are any left(!) I'll just choose someone who has sent a polite message and who sounds like they will collect on time and actually use it :)

It's nice to have a lot of potential takers after getting none at all for the chest of drawers :rotfl:

Missy.. I'll collect it.. my patio is desperate for a scrub.. the pipe came off my washing machine outlet so there is dirty laundry water everywhere and it has left white residue on the stones! Or I could just go get the stiff brush out of the shed and scrub it down.. lol

postal order banked.. I have 3 things in the TD which I need to parcel up and fling off to their new homes today.

Yippeee my photo prints have just arrived (luckily I remembered about those just in time before going to the post office or I'd have missed the courier delivery! Eeek!) What a speedy turnaround, I only ordered those Wednesday night. I shall be albuming them this afternoon.

Pigpen I couldn't bear to be responsible for something else going into your house when you're making such an effort to get things out! I agree - a brush is enough for the patio and an "old style" bucket and sponge is all I need for the car :D Why did I even get a pressure washer

My word you are a busy lot !! Having to take a break from it today.......back and legs ached too much from grovelling under two desks to clear the c**p. Still, its done now, three carrier bags of stuff to charity shop, elec. typewriter on freecycle (no takers yet - maybe people don't use them anymore?) and two bags of files for ex foster lads girlfriend............just hope she comes to collect this afternoon as promised to get them out of the way.
Did the charity shops while I was in town and came back with three bags full..............lol not for me though -well apart from two much needed lampshades..............the rest is stashed away in spare room ready to make up gift baskets................really must sort out up there. At this rate I'll have everything for this year and be starting on next !!!

Top of desk still heap of paper that need sorting out...........most of it just filing away, oh couple of things need paying as well.
Got two tatty books out of grans bible box and not sure what to do with them...................freecycle ? Maybe, they are very old so someone somewhere might like them.
Oh well, :coffee: time now I think............

I'm so glad I ordered those photo prints, they look great and it's so satisfying to know that they aren't "locked away" in my computer anymore!

I have spent the afternoon date sorting them and making up two new albums - one for "digital pics 1998-99" and one for "digital pics 2000-07". My 13 albums of "film pics" are from 1998-2004 so it's gone a little out of sequence but I'm not removing and resorting the whole lot :p

I have two more sets still to put in the albums and those are from our two most recent holidays. Then I will be completely up to date :D

I'm so pleased with these that I might actually put them downstairs in my lounge on those empty shelves for now!!!

Good to know those shelves will be used missyg..........lol
You never know, you might get quite used to them there.
My albums are all on an open shelf now and more likely to be looked through now...............once I've sorted them out..............theres about 20 of them:eek:

17 albums sitting proudly on the shelf downstairs. Almost complete, just the ONE photo missing (for which I'll hunt down the neg this evening).

Now I have a whole free cupboard shelf in my office to do something with :j

I think you're right Mary, I think they are more likely to get looked at when they're accessible like that.

I'm doing a separate album for the grandparents - ordered double of some of the best pictures for this one.

Definitely wouldn't have got round to organising all these pictures if it wasn't for this thread... and these pictures are a perfect record of my son's childhood years, I know this is going to mean so much to me in years to come.
