Exactly, so staff must get to see the card details or why else would a credit card machine printed receipt exist!
I bet they've got some cheapo website setup, where the details are sent to Shopneo via an email system or something which is how fraud was possible.
All other net orders that I've ever made in my life just come with an invoice showing what was ordered, how much, what the total was and with what method it was paid for with, not a printed card receipt with served by on it or anything which seems very odd for an online company to do.
Secure my a**e, I bet everyone got a card receipt and if the owner is honest he would own up to the fact that all cards were processed manually on a card machine, how can the owner deny it when people have the evidence to say otherwise!
This is going to do some serious damage to what ever reputation Shopneo had.
After a bit more searching it seems they were called neodiscs.com not that long ago. Maybe because things went wrong back then too, perhaps it's time for another name change.
I also read throughout the threads on this subject that Neo Techlogies has been trading since 1996 so the owners says, Companies House says otherwise, hmmm.

https://www.shopneo.co.uk doesn’t exist on companies house website, shouldn’t it be on there?0 -

The Register has a very helpful guide here.- If a company, the company's registration number should be given and, under the Companies Act, the place of registration should be stated (e.g. "XYZ Enterprises Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 1234567")
- If the business is a member of a trade or professional association, membership details, including any registration number, should be provided.
- If the business has a VAT number, it should be stated – even if the website is not being used for e-commerce transactions.
- Prices on the website must be clear and unambiguous. Also, state whether prices are inclusive of tax and delivery costs.
Shopneo is risking a heavy fine, on top of all its other troubles. Those involved should seek legal advice immediately.0 - If a company, the company's registration number should be given and, under the Companies Act, the place of registration should be stated (e.g. "XYZ Enterprises Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 1234567")

Well I emailed peter.jackson@shopneo.co.uk and got back a Standard response email just saying they cannot enter into correspondence with users, There are making no statements about the Security Issue.
Well that’s a lot of help Paul Owen you said "I have arranged a dedicated person to handle all future queries" and what a lot of help he is
They seem to think all they need to do is say any problems we should direct them to our Card Issuer.0 -
Neodiscs was the branding of the shop before they relaunced incorperating a larger number of products.
I got stung for £120 having only used the card in question last October.
Have informed the cc company and just being patient however, these things take time and as people have stated earlier in this thread... speculation helps nobody.0 -

yes i got this reply:
Thank you for contacting us via email after receiving our letter in the mail with regards to a Security Issue.
This is a Standard Form response.
We cannot enter into specific correspondence with clients, as we are making no statements with regard the Security Issue, over and above what we have stated in the Mail Notification and in this email.
We have now secured future Payment Processing via PayPal, who can process all payments, wether you have a PayPal account or not.
Any concerns about charges on your Card, used via our website, should be directed to your Card Issuer. The spurious charges only affected a very small number of clients, but as a precautionary measure, we Mailed every client who used our online payment system, over a specific timeframe.
Rest assured we are taking this matter very seriously, but with this being a Security Issue, specifics will not be released in an effort to further protect your details and anonymity.
Kind regards
Dr Peter Jackson

the point is the company involved in this SCANDEL have the perfect opportunity to answer people questions here but instead they evade and skirt the issue so of course speculation will happen
they are hiding behind the fact that people can get money refunded from their card issuer - but the problem here is deeper - you say yourself you got stung and you used them last october - 6 months ago - so even your records that old were not safe!!! how many more!!! how much more patient can we be when we dont even know if the plundering has stopped -
this is now 10's of thousands of pounds, how much more serious does it need to get before the company behind it all will even admit that they have informed the police about this wide scale identity theft
how much more serious does it need to get for Martin to email forum members to advise them to check bank accounts and cancel cards??
im sorry but it think we need answers and we need them now0 -

So they forgot to change the name on the receipts or something, either that or something iffy is going on

That's as good as saying 'Thank you for your email, it's not our problem even though we caused it, go and talk to your card issuer. Goodbye".
'The spurious charges only affected a very small number of clients', very small, are they blind or just stupid or both!
The letter they sent out with this 'Dr' Jackson as a contact has no worth at all then, I thought Shopneo were meant to have exceptional customer service from what I've read.
As for Shopneo ruling their staff out straight away, I for one think that's ludicrous. Any company would carry out an internal investigation then if all was well look beyond. As for not contacting the Police about such a large scale fraud, well that just irresponsible and doesn't say much for thier customers imo.0 -
