Got letter from ShopNeo yesterday re the fraud that's going on. Checked my bank statement and all seemed ok, but after reading here what's happening I have just phoned and cancelled my card and ordered a new one.

    Thanks all for the warning.
    :hello: Never say Never :smileyhea
  • re https://www.shopneo.co.uk

Just had a letter from Neo saying my card details may have been nicked, in so many words.

The letter is not personalise and came in a labelled envelope.

They say the shop is at 10-14 High Street, Tunstall, Stoke on Trent, Staffs.,

    Now the link isn't working.

    I've cancelled my card.

And I think I'll tell the police and trading standards in Stoke on Trent.

It seems this has been going on for a couple of years now.

On what information do you base this on?
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes.
  • I personnally beleive these threads should be locked, and one stickied. Its turning into a thread full of speculation and incorrectness which benefits no-one. (example: shopneo site is off-line!)

People are aware of shopneo's problem, the police and the banks will be looking into it. End of story.

I await the responses of "do you work for shopneo" in the way that always follows this kind of post, and in the way that some on MSE feel they can cast doubts on others postings by wrongful accusations.

MSE have my IP, and know I'm not.
  • No money taken from my account yet - but I've cancelled the card just in case.

I hope this gets sorted out and everyone gets their money back. Its happened in the past to me and isnt a nice experience.
  • I orderd some discs from nero on 9 th Feb.
After reading on this website I phoned my credit card company today.
10th Feb £90 taken to some online gambling company.
21st Feb £136 to a company called Aqua Pay, another online gambling company.
Lots of thanks for the information, I have now cancelled my credit card.

Sorry I have to disagree with you if you look on all the treads people have lost £1000’s including myself its something that should be open to discussion as it helps members swap information and to be honest I really don’t care about shopneo there site should be shut down until its safe to use. They have a reasonability to us to keep are details safe.

so well said justlooking - ohdearme has obviously not had his or her bank account robbed

as justlooking has pointed out we are talking thousands of £s - its not a small story anymore and i think everyone that has been affected should at least contact trading standards - i for one am tempted to talk to a national newspaper!!

As I was the second person to post about this, and my card was misused to over £600, I take you back to the point

sorry for that i do apologise

however locked threads help no one - we are here to support each other not ignore each other

you will always get speculation but i feel that is a small price to pay when peoples accounts are being plundered - if we were talking of a few i would agree but surly you can see how much this is mounting up to - i think its scandelous!!
