  • I agree its scandalous and where is Paul Owen to give us a update on what’s going on his end. Some people may be happy now they have there money back but in my case I’m still out of pocket as I haven’t got my money back yet so all information is a help. Also as I’ve said before there maybe still people who do not know there banks have been raided.

I would imagine a newspaper would be interested in this - one of the ones which features a decent Personal Finance section. Especially as identity theft and security of personal information is hot topic at the moment.

  • I have been hit by 2 seperate transactions, one from aquapay and one from a usenet site.
I have contacted the bank, they are sending me forms to fill in, I have contacted shopneo just now demanding an explanation as to how this happened, when it was found out and how soon we were notified.
  • One thing that needs to be said here, and has been said for years and years, NEVER EVER EVER pay for anything on the internet except with a credit card that offers protection. That rules out debit cards, paypal, nochex, western union, bank transfer etc etc

If you feel you must pay using paypal, fund the transaction with a credit card. (although Paypal payees weren't hit at all by this, its not a safe form of payment if trouble ensues).

Finally, if you want to report this to the police you have until the 31st of March to do so. Under the Fraud Act 2006, as of the 1st of April the police won't be accepting complaints unless the banks/credit card companies report it.

Indeed, there is bound to be speculation if he does not show his face around here.
  • Nothing has been seen or heard of Paul Owen since Friday...

I emailed him on Saturday, only to receive an out of office reply stating his business hours ie mon to fri....

I`m sure he should be at work considering what has happened.....unless he is at home satisfying his online gambling addiction!! (JOKE)

The point is if he keeps ignoring us all, then we are bound to start speculating..

Come on Paul,,,Give us an update!!!!

;) It may well have been a joke NENick, but I bet ( no pun intended ) that it is a thought that has crossed a few minds..
  • Just popped in (Got the deal from elsewhere originally) to say my card had £67 taken off through "GALA CORAL" which equates to 100 Euros, cancelled that card and another card i had used to order the 320gb seagate drives they had on offer.

I have also just received a membership pack from GALA today to my home address with my full details on it, so it would seem they've not just got the credit card details, but all address information also. Dont whether anyone knew this before or not.

Trying to ring them now to get them remove all my details from their system but they're not picking up.
