I got the letter yesterday, phoned my CC account today and found three transactions of £50 made to a gambling company in Gibraltar called Mansion or something!

I'm not very happy as after nearly a decade of internet shopping, This is the first time my card has ever been compromised.

Same here. £185 gone from my credit card.

In Mansion's case, I'd be very surprised if they pay out any of the money - when I joined on the NFL no win money back deal, they were overly cautious about paying out, insisting on a copy of my passport & debit card before paying out, so perhaps dropping them an email directly would be worth it.
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!

there were similar threads on the grabbit board which attracted alot of attention but the mods in their wisdom closed them down and now we only have this thread to warn people that they are being robbed hundreds of pounds!!

i emailed the mods and martin direct but no responce - i dont think mse is in any way to blame but i would like to see a more proactive way of letting the forum members know of this problem - reading the previous threads and this one it is not a small problem, we are collectivly talking about thousands of pounds being plundered!!!
  • Got hit earlier in the month, but luckily the Nationwide fraud unit rang me as the spending pattern (using gambling sites) didn't match my normal usage profile and the payments were not authorised. Pretty annoyed as I had to get a new card issued, but didn't lose any money out of the account.

First problem in over 10 years of online ordering. I will be more careful who I buy from in future.

Would have been nice for Shopneo to offer an explanation as to how this happened, rather than just sent a rather vague letter with no hint of an apology. I found the 'as a matter of courtesy' and 'in an effort to be pro-active' in the letter I received yesterday pretty insulting.
