NENick wrote:Nothing has been seen or heard of Paul Owen since Friday...
I emailed him on Saturday, only to receive an out of office reply stating his business hours ie mon to fri....
I`m sure he should be at work considering what has happened.....unless he is at home satisfying his online gambling addiction!! (JOKE)
The point is if he keeps ignoring us all, then we are bound to start speculating..
Come on Paul,,,Give us an update!!!!
Everything was already explained in the letter and who to contact if you have any questions. There is no other information I can give other than that. I've not dissapeared and i'm trying to deal with this the best way I can.
I've not ignored anyone and its upsetting to read all this speculation when I couldn't been any more clear on what to do.
I have arranged a dedicated person to handle all future queries - his email is peter.jackson@shopneo.co.uk - this was listed on all the letters that we posted. Please forward all future correspondance to him.
PaulAll queries regarding recent unauthorised CC transactions should be forwaded to peter.jackson@shopneo.co.uk0 -

Can't see one - or is that your point?
I think any inference that Shopneo or indeed Paul Owen had any nefarious intent is way off mark and libellous to be honest. I do think they have shoddy security and crap web designers though, but beyond that, I think we need to be as rational as we can about it and not start making them into Hannibal Lecter....0 -
i have now reported it myself. (but it remains)I have edited my post to show the search i did.0

Ok I called neo about 30 minutes ago and spoke to the guys there.
The problem is getting the sole attention of Peter Jackson he is the one now dealing with all queries regarding the unautorised payments that have been taken from credit cards there are numbers on the web site to contact them on but most of you will need to be aware that he is very busy at the moment dealing with lots of people so the best way to contact him by email peter.jackson@shopneo.co.uk. He will reply but he is getting lots of calls and emails at the moment so it may take time.
Just to reiterate the process of claiming the money back is to contact your card issueing company and tell them that the payments were not made by you and they will refund the money to your cards.
I actually sympathise with the owners of ShopNeo they arn't some huge company, they are very much a family style business where everyone knew each other before they worked together. They have made some great offers available in an atempt to increase sales and build the company profile with the launch of a new website etc and this happens. I do hope this doesnt destroy everything that they have worked so hard for over the last 9 years I have been buying stuff from them. I am sure that Paul and co are working on getting to the bottom of what has happend, but it isnt just a case of opening a log file and saying ohh thats who stole the details. Good luck hopfully everyone else understands what is happening.0 -

It seems dvdplayers.co.uk made it to 3rd place in Price Runner retailer of the year 2004 http://www.valueclick.co.uk/news/press_releases/050203_pricerunner2.pdf Oh how times change.
This fraud problem comes up in google when shopneo.co.uk is searched for which is a good thing http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=shopneo.co.uk&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB
Oh look, it's on another forum too lol http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=461939
Hmmmm, quoted from thedvdforums....
"IIRC the items were processed manually, ie, I got a card receipt that had been manually put through a machine yet the site is secure? I'd be looking at the integrity of any staff tbh."
"I raised that with the site owner. He catagorically denies it happens like that, and none of the staff get to see credit card details"0 -

My brother got stung to the tune of £60 odd quid due to ordering a hardrive and some other random bits, he has contacted his bank and they are fully aware of the problem
with this company which made it a lot easier to get the money refunded.
In 10yrs of ordering online from various websites I have never known this to happen and it has come as quite a shock and it does indeed make you think and be cautious of parting with details over the internet ever again.
I dont think the situation has been handled well, it seems to me that the company is on the defensive over the matter and the fact those effected
are being told to contact their legal representation makes it look like they
are just worried about themselves even more so.
Who knows what has really gone on, but rest assured as time progresses
I imagine the situation will become much clearer , especially when it concerns banks having to pay out £1000's you can bet your butt they will find who is responsible.0 -
